I just built a new computer using a DP965LT main board and I am having problems getting all four speakers to work.
I have the most up-to-date drivers off of Intel's site, selected to make the jack for rear speakers. The Test in the Vista control panel is successful with all four speakers sounding off. I do not get all four speakers in games though and not it Windows Media player for music or DVD movies.
I am curious if anyone has any hints.
Perhaps Vista is not ready for simple things like four speakers?
I used the same hardware with XP loaded and was able to get it working -- so it would appear to be a driver or Vista issue.
Maybe there is a tweak (registry) or some such to get by this? Would it be better to stick with XP for another 6-8 months if I can't live without my 4 spearker setup?
