I'm trying a 48 hour run to see how it runs, then probably go back to SETI until phase I ends.

So far, it is pretty smooth sailing. I've got the CLI going, but the graphic version sure is pretty.

From my very brief usage of the client, I have the following questions:

If I put the DPAD client files (with my "user.txt" file) on a floppy in a Muon folder, I can copy that folder onto multiple crack-rack type computers, and when the client runs, each one will generate its own unique set of data that will help the project? I realize the work would count for "stats" purposes, but I want to know it is creating worthwhile input for DPAD.

I've got some old Dual Celeron motherboards. How do you run two instances? Two folders, and set the affinity???

How does the amount of RAM affect performance? would 256mb be better than 128mb? or is 64mb just a good?

To answer some of ur question...
Yeah you can copy them...each client will calculate it's own unique results, so yeah it's wothwhile!!!
To run two processes, in the config.txt file change Threads: 1 to 2.
Not to sure about the ram...

I can't wait till this TeAm gets going FULL FORCE!!!

About the RAM. I didn't notice any difference on my main machine (XP 2500+ @ 3200+) with 256MB or 512 MB nor on my second one (XP 2000+) with 256 MB or 128 MB. The speed was about the same.

I'm trying DPAD CLI on my old Tyan Dual Celeron.
I set it for 2 threads like the FAQ said.
Task Manager shows both processors at 100%

but is it running two separate processes or is it distributing itself across both processes.

These are 450mhz processors so I want to make sure they are doing their best.

Do you see any problems or am I worried over nothing?

No need to worry! AFAIK two sepate processes is OK. When both processes end, they somehow will merge into one and share their results and get little babies and so on ... Seriously, that's the way it is supposed to work. Maybe somebody else has an exact description how this multi processor stuff works with DPAD.
