They can have it. In fact I would be quite impressed if they manage to beat the ProcessTree team into first place.

Not to doubt the DPC, but is that their regular daily output? Or did they save up for a mega flush?

This thread and this thread show it is a megaflush.

Hopefully they can get this rate on a daily basis, althought I doubt it. I would like to see the Team ProcessTree fallen like a rock.

Please, DPC, give me that pleasure and double their rate for at least a week or so, prolly more. I hope you can manage that.

Yes it was a MF... ( it took 4 hours to flush )

But were gaining GF power every second of the day.
it's a shame that the GF main proxy is the botleneck...

tnx for the support...

Advice for our DPC Gamma Flux friends.

Unless things have changed drastically with Gamma, for whatever reason some Internet routes do not flush well to Dcypher.net. When you find some users that have no trouble flushing to the keyserver, set up team proxies there. Likewise, clients then can find proxies that they can flush to reliably as well. Several TA members set up team proxies that were able to cure flushing difficulties for many members.

Best of luck, and lick those wanna-be paid crackers from PT.

I so want to see PT drop faster than a rock. Everybody who goes to their paid site undoubtably becomes a member, and with a recruitement method like that, who needs a trojan?

Nothing wrong with that method, but its not 'sporting'.

Really, anything with a PPro/PII based core is good for GF. On normal Pentium based machines (including K6's), it is a waste, they are better at other projects. GF is fairly mathematical so K7 and P6 based cores are the way to go.

Uhhh actually Pentiums and K6s are rather efficient at Gamma compared to RC5 and Seti anyway.

Other pluses are the work units are fairly small compared to OGR, so it doesn't take 2 days to complete one. Suprisingly, Gamma would flush through AOL without a hitch for me. Not that I use AOL :disgust: but I have a couple of users that do.

Nice little stats page Mythor. I wish that we had one like that when TA was doing Gamma real heavy earlier this year.

You may want to refer to the Team Anandtech Speed calculator for comparative speeds of CPUs.

Hehe Viztech, sorry but time has passed by quite fast my friend. TA's spurt great spurt was around a year ago. It all went a bit flat last summer.

Yeah, Joe O, myself and others had stirred up a little interest on the forums about Gamma back then, but the work of Crow/ZF3361 and The Magic Man made it pale in comparison.

PT has ruined Gamma for me, as there is no more glue to that team than "I wanna paycheck"

I for one wish the DPC folks well in their endevours in Gamma. If anyone can catch PT, they sure can.

I sure enjoyed collaborating with you on those Gamma PTE projects too, vss. I wish we could have made Gamma flush out that firewall that you had at university. BTW, Are you in school now?

Hehe Viz, times changed. Ultimately I was always gonna move out of campus halls. I know live in a house shared with 5 others (just like I planned 1/2 a year ago) and we share a cable modem link to the net.

That means no firewall blocking of ports so all clients work fine. Funnily enough, I think I have found a way through, but haven't ever tested it.

Those mini-PTE's were fun. The 'good old boys' got a few on me in Gamma Flux. Ps. Viz. you are still on my friends list under my Dnet stats m8.

That page is more of a recruitement banner now, but I still keep it in the top 100,000 (crack for TWTA now)

That might not be a bad Idea actually, cuz it looks like there won't be much TeamAnandtech participation. If I switched over would all my blocks move with me?

yes TA's participation in GF is all but gone. My main box a single p3-750 was at times doing 1/10th of TA's total daily production. But I am still chugging away. I hope after version 2.0 is released (/me pokes charrison), that the loophole in security will be fixed and some members will return. Of course at the current rate they are proceeding (/me remembers a certain 9meg footprint distributed client tidbits around JULY!!!!)...

ah well perhaps seti looks the way to go... (no promises yet)

PF,

We are chugging away. We have been working very hard on our next generation harvester client. I know gamma flux is WAY behind schedule for release, but other things have taken higher priority. We have launched our first commercial job and if you are in one of the selected areas and have cable/dsl drop me an email</shameless plug>. We are currently working on integrating gf2 into the new harvester client and resolving bugs and other issues. I would like to give a firm date on the release of this, but our current dev schedule is very tight.

Everyone,
GF is open to all users, not just processtree. Processtree does have a large team, but Anandtech would be an equal force there as well. Remeber TA is no small team itself.
