DPC's have a very bad day, today!

I can imagine they have lost it all together!

They lost the No. 1 spot in the RC5-64 project. It may be only a one timer for now, but it gives a statement TA is not defeated yet.

Also they are somewhere around 15th place in the OGR-25 competition, while TA is in second place and gaining slowly to Slashdot. They have no chance of passing us with only 70 GNodes daily and a gap of 11 Million. TA is submitting 2,5 times their daily amount. One of them said on the DPC-forum, they would kick our a$$, when RC5 is over. I can just laugh at that. They can't even keep up with us right now.

The DPC's say they are in GammaFlux also, but they can't seem to give the Team Name. A search for DPC or Power Cows doesn't return anything. Anyway, in GF we're in a comfortable lead, with them not showing up anywhere in the list with 100 top teams.

I don't want to mention the achievements of the Seti team, that is on the brink of a major event: the passing of two very strong teams Team Nippon and Team OS/2 Warp. Also, the DPC's are nowhere to be found in the Seti rankings.

I thought, this was an appropriate time to mention the great achievements of a great team, that has so much diversity in both people and the projects they are working on.

I know, I haven't mention the other TA-projects (like PopPow, Prime, Parabon or Folding), but if I did, this message would never end.

Peter.

Due to the changing ranks in Seti:
Our Seti team has passed the Team Nippon. It seems the Japanese lost a major contributor to their team. Congrats on that milestone to all TA-Seti members.

Yeeehay !
6 TA accounts in the Top 20 for the day ! Congrats to all, those who dumped to achieve this, an those who kept flushing every day before, to keep a stable output.
Also congrats for the efforts in flushing thru several proxies, wonderful coordination showed by pproxy operators.

Well somebody did start Gammaflux, actualy one of the members of my subteam, but after a crash at the dcypher statsbox and loosing all statistics he and a few others stopped loosing interest.

Daily output wassn't so bad actualy. But none of us restarted the team. No trust in the stats perhaps, dunno for sure.

He, that's fun!

This message is meant to motivate TA-members, but it seems it demotivates DPC-members!

As I recall, DPC-ers don't have to read or post in here!

The only constructive remark is from Scraper. Thanks! Didn't know your efforts in GammaFlux were shot down by a DCypher error. I'm sorry to hear that.

I don't post in their forum either, am just reading it!.

They are screaming faul on their forum, just for me saying something to the TA-members.

Are they trying to decide what we can and can't say? Just wondering.

Peter.

Maybe I shouldn't feel this way, but it is fun looking down the list of participants and see 'down15', down this down that along side DPC members stats!

Peter,

Thanks for the reminder! Sometimes it's easy to forget that Team AnandTech isn't just world class in RC5, but also in EVERY project the team tackles. This is one hell of a group!

Its amazing at too look at all the projects this team does. Just imagine if for one day the whole team just worked on one project. What would the output be like?

Adul, I for one think that's just a dream. With all the start up distributed computing companies there's now way you could get everyone to work on just one project. I for one wish it could happen, but am not going to hold my breath.

The DPC aren't even close to being in the same league for the OGR contest.

They're 13th Overall and 5th in the dailies down 1.

They fall almost a whopping 100,000 gnodes a day short of TA alone.

I don't even know where to look for Seti or Gamma Flux stats.

We switch to OGR where a real slaughter is taking place?
DPC are waaaaaaaaaay behind. They'd have no hope of catching TA. They'd have to start now...

Sorry Scraper,

DanC just shortwires sometimes and then forgets to read all the posts.

Couldn't resist, Dan.
Don't take it too hard, your fuses should be brought to you in a few hours.

Peter.

Has anybody ever actually done the calculations? Focus on one project, add up the extraordinary combined power of our myriad of winning teams just to see how much ass would be kicked in that particular project? It would be an interesting analysis.

When we were around a 1 million block average, someone did try to calculate how much we would do if every member would concentrate on one project.

As I remember correctly, the Seti branch would get almost the same as we did, so 1 million.
OGR was just starting then, so a bit (like 200k) is to be added to that.

And let's not forget the Gammaflux, where we had a fair amount of members back then. They would add another 200-300k.

If you add up all those figures, back then we would have roughly between 2,2 and 2,6 million blocks.

If you extrapolate this to the growth our team has been through in all projects, then I guess it is safe to say we would be around 3,5 to 4 million blocks (a very rough estimate, I think it is actually more, because I've not included PopPow, Parabon, Prime, Proth, IM, Golem and UD into the count. I know there are some TA-people working in those fields also.)

Does this satisfy all curiosity? And most important: does it make any sense?

Peter.
