Is CenDyne better or Lite On or DR? I know Frys have the CenDyne for $49.99 after rebate.

The 40x CDRW Cendyne that i bought shows up as a LITEON CDRW on my hardware device settings. So it is a rebadged liteon. I do not know about the Digital Research though...

My 16x10x40x Digital Research is a Lite-on. There is a possibility that this 40x Digital Research is a Lite-On also.

Guys, I have this model and it is a piece of crap! I get around %60 success on burned CD's.

I was over at BB today and the 40x12x48 had a 12 digit s/n which, according to previous posts, probably makes it a LiteOn. Thus a firmware upgrade to 48x is also possible. I was going to go for it but after reading Sheridan's post, maybe not.

I actually purchased this drive today and it is an Aopen 40X. I already updated the firmware to Version 1.07.
