Indeed, today the 'major' DLC, titled "Legacy", will be announced. It will happen at 1PM, PST, from the EA 2011 Showcase Event (a Live Broadcast).

From the BioWare's Social Network, Chris Priestly posted about it:

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/260/index/7813276

And the link for the live broadcast:

As a side note, I occasionally browse and post in the DA2, ME and ME2 BioWare forums, and as far as that Dragon Age 2 DLC is concerned I do remember seeing a few posts from BioWare employees claiming that it is a "story-related" DLC, and undoubtedly the biggest yet. I for one hope that it has more in common with what I'd call an expansion pack than with a 'DLC', after all DAO did get an expansion pack, I hope that DA2 gets one as well, eventually, but I won't hold my breath for Legacy to play that role.

It's welcomed, nonetheless.

I definitely won't be buying this after how bad DA2 was.

I don't buy Bioware DLC anyway, since I think it is all crap.

I did buy DAO: Awakening though.

DA2 is still sitting on my PC, unfinished. I feel no urge to finish it either. Well I hope those who get this DLC will enjoy it.

I enjoyed DA2, I would like to see an expansion pack for it. I'd also like to see DA:O2

DLC? no thank's.

True expansion packs with at least half the hours of gameplay continuing your hero's adventure for half the original game price? Sign me up!

They (bioware) were saying during the development of DA2 the entire time it was going to be more actiony (is that a word?) and when it came out everybody was so upset it wasn't like dragon age origins. I don't understand why we can't have both types of games, i love the universe they're set in and all the lore

I wish Bioware's MMO was in the DA Universe honestly, maybe Mass Effect. I'm sure SW:TOR will be fine don't get me wrong, but there was already a SW MMO and tons of other star wars games.

IF they weren't spending so much time on the MMO i bet we could have more of all the different game types they offer.

1. Gears of war in space (Based on positive customer feedback from ME:1 to Me:2, ME:3 is going to play like Madden 2012)
2. New Neverwinter Nights (Dragon Age: Origins)
3. God of War with a Party and Pausing (Dragon Age 2)
and soon 4. Space World of Warcraft with a Story

Bioware doesn't have good track record with quality DLC. Their only good one was Shadowbroker, which is buried within dozens of crappy DLC.

Just wait, it will probably get like a 54 on metacritic. That's about the level of quality I've come to expect from Bioware DLCs.

I think this is great. I've been holding off on buying DA2 until they come out with DLC and put everything in one complete pack, and this is one step closer. I'm sure I will find it to be a good value at $30 for everything, despite the comments I've seen on here about it being too "arcadey consoley".

Of course if enough people like me respond to DLC by simply waiting to buy the main game until you get a complete pack, I think you'll see DLC strategies going forward that are better for the consumer.

I quit after beating Act II, however Steam reports that I have 42 hours invested in the game so it's certainly not a dud. It's worth playing, to be sure... it's just painfully redundant after awhile. Imagine if DA:O was ~40-50 hours long, but only took place in Ostagar, Denerim, and the Deep Roads. In other words, you had to keep re-playing the same maps over and over again. Throw in wildly inconsistent difficulty spikes, I'm talking of the variety where someone (myself, in this case :-D) that breezed through Nightmare on DA:O still needed almost 15 tries just to beat the last boss in Act II on the easiest setting. :-S

That is just pathetic, it still makes me sick thinking about that battle, I had to resort to kiting to get past it and even then it was a crapshoot.

But with all that said, it's not without it's charms. I loved certain aspects of the game, there was real potential and most of the streamlining they did turned out to actually be a good thing.

I just watched the broadcast (not live though, I just did a few moments ago) and it looks like an interesting DLC to be honest, not that I hated the game to start with anyway, I thought it was enjoyable. Certainly not as complex and unique as Origins or even Awakening, but still fun overall. I think I'll buy it, and it'll be released this month, on the 26th, if I can get around four or five hours of play time out of it I'll be content, because really I'm not actually expecting BioWare to come up with an expansion pack or a 10+ hours long 'DLC' for DA2. They Twitted some time ago that they were hiring for Dragon Age 3, so I'd rather see them put their time and resources for that one instead, while they're at it.

Skipped DA2. While I was playing DA:O, I thought it seemed like the best RPG in a long time - but then began to fill it was incredibly tedious and long at times.

That leads to another leads to another leads to another leads to... oh, my gosh.

It was terrible to think of redoing some of that - though I did once for a second char.

Unfortunately, while I was still playing it on PS3, I saw it on sale for $50 complete on Steam and 'couldn't pass up the incredible bargain', haven't touched it.

looks good, but then again, I enjoyed DA2 (not as much as DA, but it still used up a small amount of my life).

Been stuck in chapter 3 for months, I don't think I'll ever finish. Every time I try to fire it up I just want to jump out of the window.

Sounds like this "expansion" will only improve the part of the game introduced by said expansion. The original game will still probably suck.

Don't think I can be bothered with more Hawke stuff.

Might pick it up if I see it heavily discounted on steam some day when I'm really bored.

If they want my business for real, Bioware needs to get over the DA2/Hawke fiasco and bring back the Warden and more of the great stuff from DA:O.

You don't HAVE to duel him you know. You could just refuse and have your whole party fight with you... But I agree, the difficulty of that fight (1v1) was absurd, especially with the wrong class.

I watched the whole presentation and there was absolutely no mention of length. How long is this DLC gonna be?
