I wish the Keep had the ability to import saves. Can't remember some of the choices I made, so I have to spend time reading the wiki and try to piece together what result I want.

When I did the "The Dragon Keep" it should be able to scan some of your decisions you made(got some wrong on mine however),they did say importing game saves gave too many bugs so was removed.

The Dragon keep was their best option, yes a bit of a pain going through the Dragon Keep story template and double checking those choices you made in previous games, one good thing is you can change them to your liking however.

Just checked and made sure my DA:O and DA2 save files are ready and available. Will there be significant impacts to DA3 with the choices that we made in the previous games?

I don't think we will know until we have played DA:I,I'm playing it safe and have my Dragon Keep template ready to the previous choices I made in the earlier DA games.

I've kept away from reviews due to possible spoilers, always best to find out for yourself.

Yeah, just walked through and answered the best I could. There were a few DLCs I didn't do, but I think I could recall about 80% of the important choices. Tough to remember all the decisions from a game I played 5 (and 3 years) ago, for sure!!

I hope their will be real impacts and not the disaster that was the impact of choices from ME1 & 2 in ME3.

I hope so too.

Ideally, the fact some people are still alive (and the fact other died) should trigger unique quests in DAI. That would also be fun to encourage more than one playthrough...

my wife is out of town all weekend.....i just wish this game came out today!!!

LOL. I am out of town next week, so I really wish it was already released.

On the plus side, maybe it will be patched a few times before I can install next Friday?

The game scan is a little broken, it missed almost half of DA:O from my saves. I double checked it and it's not loading all the saves just the first couple.

Note that it's not taking your saves, it's taking profiles uploaded to social.bioware.com. For profiles to be updated, the option must be selected in the game and (this is something that BioWare hasn't stressed enough, so I'll stress it!) the Developer Console must be disabled.

Once Dev Console is disabled, you can try to force a refresh by loading a save, changing some equipment, and resaving. After that, give the website a couple hours to catch up. This worked for me.

I'm having a real hard time not pre-ordering this one after watching some of the video reviews.

If you're willing to pay EA some fried cheese, I believe its available on EA Access right now. Wouldn't support that service myself though.

Buying this Day One. No question about it. Long ass single player and I thoroughly enjoyed DA 2, Origins was OK.

Yea, i pre ordered today after watching the video reviews, even the lowest scored reviews said its an awesome game. and to their credit they didnt have a review embargo like ubisoft did with AC Unity & then after its released we find it has a gazilion bugs. Seems like EA has nothing to hide & theyre proud of it. I usually wait a few months for optimized drivers & all the bugs to be ironed out & SLI profile, but this looks like a solid release.....heres to hoping i wont be burned with this purchase!

Too bad it's coming out the same day as Far Cry 4, definitely gonna cannibalize some of it success.

I was sooooo looking forward to this... But I'm not going to play this. Not on my PC, maybe on a console at a friend's house but we all know that's not how you play DA.

The reason I am not picking this up is simple: Securom is back. Same guys that made nasty POS back in the day are having another go...

Over at their forums they were discussing this,

Technical Protection Measures. The PC version of this Software uses Origin Online Activation and Sony DADC Austria AG’s Denuvo content protection technology.

Sounds like a poor excuse to not play a potentially great game.

So how does this "Denuvo is anti-tamper on the executable that's DRM but not really DRM" work then? The Denuvo website openly talks far more about copy protection than anti-cheating ("Our latest innovation, Denuvo Anti-Tamper, allows EA to reap the benefits of stamping out all piracy attempts in the crucial first weeks of a title’s release.") For that to work, it obviously has to be "deeper" than some regular anti-cheat "punkbuster" style .exe's, so is it another new-fangled Sony rootkit? It's a fair question that merits an honest answer considering the same people who made it also made the unholy Securom...

I've also seen mixed messages from developers regarding performance hit with one Lords of the Fallen developer saying it adds a 5% performance penalty and a Bioware employee pretty much dodged the question with a lame "well the only way to tell is to benchmark with and without, and we haven't so there" style copout 'response'. According to pcgamingwiki, "Denuvo" is listed under "hardware-based DRM" and also states "Obfuscation overhead slightly reduces game performance". Some speculate it constantly moves the .exe's game code around in memory. That isn't "free" (performance wise). Some gamers sure do hold "ridiculous grudges", but being wary of potential reinvented Sony rootkits that can measurably slow-down the game is entirely sane until more is known about it.

Watching some of the video's, I do like some of the combat changes. But I HATE the stylistic combat animations for some of the Rogue and Warrior attacks.

-A warrior's two-handed sword attack splits the ground and the enemies starts taking fire damage from lava?
-The Assassin's special attack summon's clones that backstab.
-Champion's Line in the Sand creates clones made out of sand the enemy can't bypass.
-Warrior's Reaver spec turns their hands into magical dragon claws?

This junk grinds my gears. I want to play someone skilled at arms not a Mage with a sword and fullplate. Sorry personal pet peeve rant I needed to get out.

I have to laugh at the 'ridiculous grudge' comment. I'm not sure how repeatedly stupid archaic endeavors that prove to be nothing but issues is ridiculous, but ok.

If the first 2 weeks is truly why, then drop the price by $20 at release for the first 2 weeks and you'll make as many extra in sales as you spent on creating a DRM that likely will only cause people issues who paid for the game. Of course, suits don't look at things in that way. You already Origin as a DRM, anything on top of that is just asking for issues.

All this news does is make me say, I won't buy the game for at least 2-3 months after all the issues have been worked through - if ever.

Anyone preordering this game at this point is kind of foolish. Grudge or no grudge. If this statement upsets you, well it should.

Of course, on further thought, myself would skip it simply because it is on Origin. Here let me give you my money AND jump through hoops. Sorry I have too many other games to play already that don't require it....doesn't matter how potentially good it is.
