Moving in a 3rd person perspective with controls that are either on or off (keyboard keys)is not better sorry. All the games you listed are far better with a keyboard and mouse.

Why should you have to though? Bioware developed first and made their best games for PC. Why screw up the controls now? Using a controller is a complete no-go for me. Probably will wait for a sale. Not willing to pay full price for a game with a problematic control scheme.
Eh? I though original NWN's controls were superb. 36x quickslots (F1-F12 quickslots plus CTRL + SHIFT modifiers) which could be double-stacked for one-touch access to dual-wield / sword & shield combinations, right-click radial action wheel (mapped to numeric keypad), one hotkey access to all commonly used screens (spells, journal, inventory, character, etc), 2ft PC optimized HUD (which could be completely hidden), variable sized zoomable map overlays, hotkeys for henchmen commands "wait here", "follow me", "attack nearest", etc, & skills (disable trap, pick pocket, etc), variable selectable camera modes (chase, top-down, driving), right click-examine on skills / spells for detailed infotips, adjustable screen-edge turning sensitivity, fully rebindable keys, etc.I don't know why they decided to, but it isn't the first time Bioware has screwed up the controls of an RPG like this. NWN's controls were poor, NWN 2 was worse. DA: Origins was great, DA2 was not as good, and DA: I is poor.
I'm more happy to have spent $70 on DA:I as I am with my free Far Cry 4...
DA:I, not DA:O but a worthy successor and a great RPG so far.

DAI's "HUD designed for TV's at 10ft + controllers even on the PC version" looks like a broken child's toy in comparison.
I don't hate the tactical Camera in fact i appreciate the idea. Its just a little hard to rotate to see my target which seems to be the biggest advantage to using it.
Go ahead and hate...but I like the controls a lot. The tactical view is great for the tough battles, but being able to just get through a quick random encounter without needing to take the time to set up each thing as if it was a major fight is really great too.
PLUS, i love going straight from playing the game with the controller to my nvidia shield and not having to get used to a different set of controls.
Im loving the game, but has anyone noticed the minimap is completely useless??? Some of the areas are huge, and the minimap is completely blank aside from quest markers. Whats up with that?? I have to keep switching between main map & the game just to figure out where i am....totally lame that they neglected that!

Perhaps it's... a compass instead. That's all I use it for, to make sure I'm heading in the right direction.
After the absolute diabolical and unforgiveable $!*&ing mess that DA2 was I've put this out of my mind despite being a massive fan of the original game, I couldn't bare to get excited for it and then be disappointed so I've literally ignored everything about it to date.
So here's a question aimed at people who loved DA:O for the older Baldur's gate feel and also hated DA2, is DA3 any good?
Is it worth getting for fans of the original who hated what they did to number 2?
At last you can actually enjoy the game instead of looking at the minimap all the time.
The minimap is back at it's optional role and it's awesome
If you actually played DA2 and honestly thought it was a "absolute diabolical and unforgiveable $!*&ing mess" then no you will not enjoy DA3 at all. Do no buy it. DA3 may be the best RPG of the last 10 years but your hate mongering will prevent you from enjoying it in any way.
Ugh I looked at the HUD/interface and it has that DA2 feel. It just reminds me of those toys you give to small children to help them learn basic shapes/colours.
