I need an opinion. I received my free dragon age from the ms store purchase and i look it up it is worth 40 to best buy. I am debating should i trade it in and buy the pc version for 45 at amazon

You want to trade dragon age for dragon age? Is the other a console version or something?

Go to the blacksmith buy/sale banner (not sure which city you are at) and there is a necklace you can buy. They sell 1 at Haven, and 1 at Skyhold for 1 gold, and they have a ~349 gold one that can be bought as often as you want. When you equip it, all your abilities reset, though you cannot re-specialize.

What i want to do is, to use a bow (ranged) instead of two daggers after reseting my abilities, is it possible since i specced Dual Wielding?

Dual Wield is not a specialization. You won't learn about spec's until level 10 and after reaching a new hold.

I have a feeling that the PC version will see far more longevity than the console version, at least, thats been the case for most games.

As far as which will have better performance, that depends on the hardware in your PC. The Xbox One version runs at 900p, and since many XB1 players on the Bioware forums claim they cannot tell the cutscenes are 40fps, I suspect the entire game may run at 30fps. If you have a decently powerful PC, you'll be able to run it at 1080p. 60fps is do-able with some selective tweaks.

Sandy 2500k and 7870 tahiti. Then again, advantage is if i beat it quickly i can easily sell it back for 40.

I am playing at 1440p on sandy i5 2500k and R9 280x. Settings a mixture of ultra and high. V-sync on and it holds 60 indoor areas no problem , drops when your outside in crowds.

Games does look pretty good I must say. It's really , really big too. I am only just grasping how big a game it is. This is an 80-100 hour game no problem

Your system will run it fine. But, you will neither beat quickly, nor sell it back. Its a pretty large with a lot of replay value. Even before any DLC has been announced.

Reckon you could rush the main quest in 20 hours or so if you were trying to beat it quickly

I plan on taking my time with this game :awe:

So, are most people working with the mages or the templars? I have just been kind of exploring and avoiding the quests that lock you in to one faction or the other. The sidequests are starting to get repetitive though, so I want to get back to the main quest and advance the story. I just hate to lock out working with either group.

I went with the mages because I am one.

went Templar because I did it first and didn't know I'd get locked out of Mages

I'm not sure what your question is asking. Do you want to switch between archery AND dual wield daggers with the same character? Or, do you want to change your character from a pure dual wield to a pure archery build? Either one should be possible but I don't believe this game has quick weapon swapping so it would be a chore to have a character do both.

When in battle you cannot access inventory anyhow. But you can pick rogue archer and still use daggers. It only changes the starting bonus.

Yeah, kind of annoying honestly. I liked how BG/ID Bioware games allowed you to have up to three (IIRC) weapon 'quick slots' for each character. That would be ideal for DA:I so you could have a anti-demon, anti-dragon, and general use weapons at your disposal, rather than pre-equipping before each fight.

Edit: Also allows for melee characters to equip bows for occasional use as well. Especially good for rogues and/or mages as well.

yep, that's what the trait respec does. just that easy.

when you get to specializations, you will select a new skill tree that is permanent, so be careful with that.

ok, so what do you mean? selecting "Dual Wield" vs "Bow" in initial character creation screen? That doesn't really mean anything beyond the crappy weapons that you pick up 5 minutes into the game.

what defines you as ranged or dual wield is whatever you choose to put in your hands, and the abilities that you trait into, which you can reset infinite times.
