Go to Origin and look under free games. It is a "On the House" Selection.

Just add it to your library and it is yours. (You must have the Origin Client)

Didn't expect this from Origin.
Good game if you haven't played it yet!

Origin has been really good about putting games on the house since about March of this year.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Origin_free_games

Dead Space (Available On the House from March 27 to May 8)
Plants vs. Zombies (Available On the House from May 9 to May 29)
Battlefield 3 (Available On the House from May 29 to June 4)
Peggle (Available On the House from June 17 to August 6)
Wing Commander III (Available On the House from August 5 to September 15)
Bejeweled 3 (Available On the House from September 16 to October 28)

....and now Dragon Age Origins.

I think EA is finally starting to get it, they are starting to really earn some goodwill back from gamers after a decade of screwing them over.

I was very worried when they bought popcap because I loved their games, but they did a heck of a job with Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and have been adding lots of free new content.

Is it free to play for a limited time, or can I get it now and play it a few months down the road?

Once you claim it, it will always be in your Origin library so you can play whenever you like.

Nice deal! I like free.

(I sold my old copy a while back, so it's nice to get a replacement).

Origin has a return policy while Steam relentlessly follows the first Rule of Acquisition "once you have their money, you never give it back" (See Steam give everyone the run around when Securom codes wouldn't work). Origin's customer service has these things called humans that can help you while Steam will just give you a canned sucks to be you response. But Origin only has 122 non EA games.

Not to thread crap, but check the myriad of absolutely unacceptable chat transcripts folks have posted regarding origin.

I've been using steam for well over 10 years and they have always been great, the one time i actually had to contact support it was smooth as could be.

The one issue I had with steam (purchased game on wrong account) was resolved in 1 day with 1 email to steam support.

however, people have been banned from origin and lost their entire account for things that are completely ludicrous. that's cause for me to buy steam when the option presents itself.

not that it matters. dragon age is only on origin, and it's a fantastic game. truly one of the best RPG's i've ever played.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Origin is just as stable as steam is these days, and, as for you having "smooth" support with steam, you got lucky.
I have contacted steam many, many times over the years, and "smooth" isn't how I would describe the experience. Heck, not even close.

For what it is worth, I also had to contact origin's support, and that went OK after then 2nd try.

For those of you on the fence about this (and the other free games Origin gives out monthly), I would say, go ahead and install Origin, and decide for yourself.
You can always uninstall it if you want, but, I highly doubt that you will.
