This looks like a super low-budget, quickly-produced crappy early-80s movie (watch the trailer with Eye of the Tiger playing at the proper moments, I'm sure it would fit perfectly) redone with expensive CG effects.

Looks pretty awful. Goku was nothing like this character in the original Dragonball manga/anime. He was an innocent, dumb kid who Bulma found in the woods, who knew nothing of the life outside those woods.

Plus, 7 mystics didn't create the dragonballs. Bulma didn't/never knew how to fight. They really don't care about the story I guess.
