drawer at the bottom of oven??

So my oven has a drawer at the bottom of it, i've basically just used this for storage of some pans. Is there an actual use for this drawer or is it just storage?

I have one in the house i've been at the last 12 years. Its used to store the pots and pans that you never gonna fucking use. I haven't opened that draw in atleast 10 years.

My grandma used to have an oven like that. Sometimes it's a separate broiler, sometimes it's a warming tray. Most just use the space for storage.

on the gas stoves i have seen there is a broiler down there and the electric stoves i have seen it is for storage - we keep our tupperware in there

Ours has a warming drawer there. Our last one was just storage. They are designed so that if you open the drawer, it falls off.

The thing I hate about them is that they seem to collect crumbs and drips from stuff in the main part of the oven. Crud falls through the crack at the hinge point for the main oven door.

Every time I have to clean that out I think that there's a fortune to be made in a sealed oven door hinge.

maybe wall ovens are easier since that drawer isn't there.

Two ovens, the smaller oven is on top instead of on the bottom. Ideal, because we use the smaller oven space more often than the larger oven space. No useless storage or broiler for me.
I'm surprised more aren't made this way.

Because it's obviously more expensive. Most people have no need for 2 in 1 ovens.

Is it big enough to last the life of the oven or do you have to drain it once in awhile?
