Gets kinda dried out down there, doesn't it?

Nope, I never use the oven part of my oven. I either cook on the stove top or eat out. And nobody ever thinks to look there for your weed. Never had any come up missing and I have some friends who are fiends.

I drilled holes in the bottom of our oven, so that drawer functions as a handy oversized drip tray. My wife thought I was so smart with that conversion.

Well that was a dumb thing to do. Yeah what do we need to do with a temperature controlled space? Oh make more holes for heat to escape! BRILLIANT!

It depends on the oven. Mine is actually a warming drawer and has a separate control for the lower oven.

I have a gas oven, it's not the broiler as the broiler is at the top of the oven ...
Pretty sure mine's just storage, but, I have plenty of cabinet space for all the pots, pans, wok, skillet, etc .... so it's empty.

I use mine for storage of bigger cookware items that I can't fit in my cabinets. Things like my pizza trays and such. It's too short to contain all my pots and pans. I also don't like bending over that far to open it to get stuff from it so I don't put much in there except my big pizza trays that I rarely use.

Yup, I use mine for storage too. It's where I keep my pizza stone and baking sheets.

smart would be using aluminum foil at the bottom of your oven to catch drippings.

mine can be used as a warmer or bread proofer and the only time those functions are used is at thanksgiving.

Two ovens, the smaller oven is on top instead of on the bottom. Ideal, because we use the smaller oven space more often than the larger oven space. No useless storage or broiler for me.
I'm surprised more aren't made this way.

we had a side by side. kinda like this had a full size one then a half and small one above it.

with 6 burners and a griddle built in. It was a great stove to bad we left it in the old house.

when/if we ever redo the kitchen i plan on putting in another one like it (or better). a nice stove should not be something you skip on.

as for the OP on a gas stove its the boiler.

the oven doesn't have insulation layers? drilling through seems like a bad idea

I have one in the house i've been at the last 12 years. Its used to store the pots and pans that you never gonna fucking use. I haven't opened that draw in atleast 10 years.

That's a good use for it. I use it for baking sheets, etc., but they're all ones that are seldom used. So I suppose I agree.

WTF are you cooking in your oven that drips so much that it will actually hit the bottom of the oven and pool up enough to drip through the bottom?

Not to mention the stupidity of putting holes in an ovent that is insulated and designed to maintain a constant temperature.

You are an idiot.

I use my drawer to store my big roasting pans. That's what my mom always used hers for, so I figured that's what it's for.
