Dreaded BSOD Error

Periodically - once every .5-10 minutes on my computer - it BSOD's with this error. It seems to be related to the temperature of the computer, perhaps, because it first starts out pretty tame - once every 5-10 minutes or so - and then continues to progress to such levels that it renders my main computer useless.

I've tried different video card drivers; they don't seem to fix the problem at all.

Interestingly enough, this wasn't something I had a problme with at all before, but now, all of a sudden, it has become an issue. Rather bizzare in my opinion.

If there's any solution you can suggest, please help me!

If you believe it is heat-related, then leave your system idle and see if you get the same results. I suggest swapping the memory out.

Another common problem relating to that particular error is drivers. I would check the temps then driver versions. Personally i would pull all un-necessary hardware out and make sure there was not a power issue as well.

The thing is, I've been running this exact same system for more than a year now, so I don't know what it could be. And yes, Sophist, the same thing happens when the system is idle.

I did recently mess with the drivers, but I've tried lots of different versions now, and I still get this problem.

I repositioned my fans for better airflow...

Been over an hour, no crashing.

Sounds like you are on the righ track. Hopefully it is a heat-related issue as you first hypothesized. You might want to clean the fans and filters if you have any. Normally it is recommended to clean your system once a year.

If you decide to do the cleaning, remember to take it outside, it is unhealthy to breathe all of that collected dust. Keep us updated.

It worked fine for an entire night, and now I just got back again and it's BSODing.

It's in various .sys files, from NVsomething.sys to HTTP.sys.

I think it was my nVidia firewall. I uninstalled it and haven't had problems since.

I've also realized that the problems were most prominent when I was downloading lots of thing through uTorrent.
