If you had an unlimited budget what would your "dream computer" be? This could include any peripherals and monitor. I actually need this info for a reason and I am just looking for some different ideas. Plus it is fun to dream

I would want that worked well from the first time i booted it up. It would also work perfectly until i decided to upgrade, in which case somehow it would upgrade itself.

Could it be a Desk Top and Workstation? Because nothing is going to match the math throughput of a quad opteron set up with 4 SCSI's in Raid 1+0.

1 question why is every one going with Raptors for HDD's?? I I had the money I would be going with a huge SCSI array and an awsome controller.

You seem pretty confident that the X800 will be a huge performer Mik3y. Why not the 6800 that's all ready out?

lol i dont kno why, i guess the only reason y i chose it was cuz of the 512mb. i'm not biased towards anything having to do with comps. i just like whats best, and rumors are saying that hte radeon may be faster, so the rumors are the closest things i have to facts. also, i just have a feeling that ati's new line of cards will be faster.

raptors are cooler and quiter than most SCSI drives, plus are almost as good in the performance aspect. plus raptors are more geared toward desktop performance, not server, and can be used in any SATA PC incase one wants to swap them out

another reason y this is a dream computer setup. anything is basically possible. i could just list a 50,000rpm 10 terabyte sata harddrive, a 3.4 terhahertz fx-555555, a radeon 10000MB X8,000,000,000 XT, 1000000MB DDR30000000000 ram, all with a temp of -1000000C

so this is actually my dream computer.
