I got the same thing minus the flexishaft and clamps for $28 in the form of the Black & Decker knock-off (which by the way, works with ALL dremel attachments) from Target. Not sure about latest prices though, got mine a while ago. Awesome product, I use it a lot.

Ride.... he said the link (which ends up at Amazon), is not showing the price. It looks like a B&M deal.

I just want to be sure that the one he found at LOWE's is indeed the exact Dremel combo. Not without some of the shown items.

This is the black and decker RTX. Can be found at Home Depot for $25. Some like it better than the Dremel. Its worth a look considering the price.

I've been contemplating getting a RotoZip because I like the ability to cut drywall, wood, etc. with the sideways action on their drill bits. Is that possible with a dremel?

It's possible with a Dremel, but I'll tell you right now if you're cutting drywall or particle board in large quantities, use the RotoZip. Doing a lot of that with a Dremel isn't much fun. The dremel is for small job work, IMHO.

Thanks for the tip. I think the RTX would do the trick, and it is compatible with Dremel attachments.

I got the Dremel 380 variable speed tool with digital readout and 200pc toolkit including the flex shaft at Sams about this time last year for around $60 on clearance. I previously owned the B&D RTX-2 but I find the Dremel to be a more "refined" tool at lower RPM settings. The B&D has a higher torque rating and works OK at full speed , but in my experiences it tends to choke faster than the Dremel at lower RPMs. The RTX is also not balanced very well and tends to vibrate at low RPMs. I thought this might just be a fluke with my unit until I tried several others at Home Depot. As with any tool, personal preferences will vary, but IMO the Dremel is superior.

BTW - checkout yout local Targets for good clarance deals on Dremel attachments. I picked up the right hand attachment tool for $6.42 on final clearance there. This attachment sells for $30 at Home Depot!

This is why >>
Electronic feedback control takes the jerk and torque out of lower-speed applications

I just picked one up for that price. When I went there was a sign that said "new low price" so I'm wondering if maybe Dremel is phasing that package out or something.
