drill or dremel attachment for 80mm holes?

I didn't have one and wanted to make the hole while I had the time so I improvised. I drew the template, then drilled many holes with my drill around the perimeter of the hole. Then I used the dremel cutting wheel to connect the holes. Then I used the stone tool with the dremel to dull the sharp edges.

The whole process takes about 12 minutes. It ain't pretty but it works well. I've done it for 120mm fans also.

Finally, wear safety glasses

the wheel cutter will do it just fine if you have the right drill piece

Im not sure how much help this may be:

I have a LianLi PC-65 and wanted a 120mm blow hole.

I had to use a dremel and drill out the rivots, then took the top to a machine shop where I drew out a 120mm
template and use a special cutting tool that has a drill bit and an arm with a cutting edge that cuts out the circle.

This worked out extremely well, and did not damage the anodized aluminum finish. It was a very clean cut.

some of us dont have access to a shop like that!

you can buy a hole saw at practically any home improvement store. I know they sell them in standard sizes, but i'm not sure about metric sizes.

or you could just get one here

I think i'll try to take it to a shop, because i want to make about 4 fan holes: 2 on the side, 1 in the rear, and one on the top, so I really don't want to mess with that because it's my new lian li.

Be sure you tell the guy in the shop you don't want any damage to the case.

In my experence, you can do this stuff with a dremmel with cutting wheels, steady hand and no rush..

I just mark out the hole, cut it out just to the inside with a jig saw, then finish it with a half round bastard file. It's very quick.

cutting wheels take way to long and break very easily in my dealings with them, and although i use a jig-saw alot, its kinda hard to cut if you aren't making a strait line.

this Circle Cutter Attachment makes it quick and easy, also, you could make other sized holes if you felt like going for the quiter 120's

Just call your A/C repair man , he cuts out duct's all the time.
They have a special tool that will cut like a hot knife thru butter.

It pivots on a arm , takes about a minute to cut a perfect hole.
