Drilling a hole in a pentium pro for a key chain - help

Well, I have an old pentium pro that I want to drill a hole (or someting) to connect it to my key chain, but the thing seems to be made of somekind of extermely dense silicon or someting, and I can't drill a hole through it (I even tried burning/melting a hole through it). Nothing works, do you guys have any ideas, or do I need to get a diamond tipped drill bit?

Here is a hint. I belive you want something that is capable of drilling ceramics, porcelan and masonary products.

yeah, does anybody know the exact drill bit I would need for that? Or maybe a more powerful drill

a tungsten carbide tiped bit should do the trick, they're tough little basterds. about two or three times more expencive than a standard bit though.

That's a pretty good keychain idea, kind of big though isn't it!

Cobalt Bits work, they are fast to. But they cost about as much as that chip.

I tried the exact same thing with one of the PPro 180's I bought off the sale/trade forum, I didn't even put a dent it the dam thing. I tried using a Dremmel and a $13 bit I got for it, I don't remember what it was made of, all it did was scratch it..sorta

I think if you were static protect while drilling your warranty will still be intact.

LOL ... Actually what I ended up doing was soldering a keychain clip onto the corner of it.

er...I have a busted druon that i wanted to make a keychain buy i cant make a hold on the damn thing now it just sits in my car as a ordiment

You want a sand-blast style etching wand to pulverize a hole through it. Drills will crack the ceramic. Go to a hobby store and look for these wands. Kind of expensive equipment to make a key ring.
