wouldn't a stimulant be worse for ADD? I don't know shit about it. I know when my wife has coffee she's like a bunny rabbit who is on 100x regular time.
same here. im not a heavy coffee drinker, but i have sat around and drank a few cups at 11pm or so and still gone to sleep. i drink it at a few days a week, i like the flavor. but i have to be careful, because ill start falling asleep if i have too much. one of my best friends drinks coffee all day. she will make a pot of coffee while we are sitting around at night as well, and she will go to sleep soon after as well. hers is a tolerance thing tho, she does have issues with caffeine if she drinks too much for too long.
ya, i had heard that as well. my brother is diagnosed ADD and is on meds for it, but he has issues with caffeine keeping him awake and upsetting his stomach. i dont know if im ADD or not, but i do have a lot of the symptoms. i just never cared enough to go to the doc to find out.
i dont drink coffee on weekends at all, and will go days without it. i dont get the headaches and cravings like my bro does. or like my friends that are power drinkers.
If it's soon enough before bed, then I will be able to go to sleep without issue. I will gnash my teeth while asleep and probably wake up 3-4 hours later, though.
Can anyone here drink coffee before going to bed? My father will sometimes drink 2 cups of coffee before he turns in for the night. I don't know how he does it. If I drank a few cups of coffee I would be up till dawn. If I consume half a Monster (8oz) I'm up all night!
If i drink coffee and go to bed right away, i will sleep like a rose. Because coffee makes me sleepy when i just consumed it. If i stay up and use the raised alertness to focus and stay awake, i will not sleep. It depends on your state of mind. However, i must admit that i am sort of coffeeholic.
From wiki and very interesting :
In humans, caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant, temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. Studies have shown that caffeine potentially induces chromosomal aberrations,[1][2] and shows both teratogenic[3] and mutagenic properties.
If it's a weekday, then I don't drink coffee after about 4pm. I am not normally tired at night/bedtime, so, I try to avoid anything that will make it harder to sleep at night.
Now, on weekends, I usually go to sleep when I'm tired, around 4 or so. I can drink coffee if I want and it doesn't make one bit of difference.
