What a complete jerk. There should be some serious charges for this.

A motorcyclist got more than he bargained for while making a pass on a two-lane road on Saturday when a driver swerved and hit the bike, sending both passengers to the ground. The driver’s response to the whole thing? “I don’t care.”

The rider, Eric Sanders — who posted the video taken by a fellow traveller to Facebook shortly after it happened — said in the comments section that he suffered road rash and his girlfriend went to an intensive care unit in Texas after the incident.

I don't care either. It was an illegal pass, I don't have any sympathy for people injured as a direct result of breaking the law.

The motorcyclist shouldn't have been speeding and passing on a double yellow either.

That driver should be arrested for attempted murder. What a genuinely defective human being.

It doesn't really matter what the biker was doing when it is obvious by the video he intentionally tried to hit the biker. One trumps the other. Had one or both of the bikers died, this would be quite an interesting story as they try to use "he was passing in a double yellow" as a defense.

The dude filming should have been more worried about his friends than the dick that hit them.

So the driver intentionally running into him means nothing to you?

So the motorcyclist intentionally ignoring the laws and endangering everyone else on the road means nothing to you?

See how that works? Let me ask you, which person broke the law first? And would that person have been in a position to be hit if he didn't make the decision to intentionally break the law?

Wow...the ignorance is strong with this one....^^

You know how there are anti-vigilante laws? This applies. It doesn't matter what the motorcyclist was doing, it means zero because the driver hit him intentionally. What he SHOULD have done was get his plate.

Will the biker get fined for breaking the law? Most likely, but it doesn't remove the intentional vehicular homicide attempt. Even if he was only trying to scare the guy, he's still screwed unless he has an amazing lawyer.

A random meeting of two idiots often ends this way.

I'm happy when there's a good clear video of it. :|

One does trump the other but it doesn't completely erase the other move. When you act like a dick other people get mad and do stupid stuff.

Seriously the driver of that vehicle deserves to have his house firebombed. While he's sleeping.

what a stupid argument.

what if there was a person crossing the street there, and the person was on the left side of the road, and the car swerved over and hit the person on purpose "because they are jaywalking" since there is no crosswalk there.

in your eyes that would be justified?

it's flat out attempted murder and i hope that redneck gets put in jail for it. i'm surprised how cool the guy with the camera was about it all when talking to the guy. seems like he was completely in shock too because when he went back to the girl on the ground they asked him what the guy said and he said he didn't remember but had it on video.

The motorcycle could be perceived as much more of a threat than a pedestrian so your argument kind of sucks too.

I saw a special on this. A lot of people living on Country roads down south are fed up and city idiots with motorcycles coming to the country and doing 100+ mph. And they are fed up with it

neither of them are a threat to the guy who swerved into the wrong side of traffic.

Wow. So if someone is speeding I have the right to hit them with my car? Or if someone is jaywalking I have the right to plow right through them?

That's just not how civilized society works.

Jaywalking does not justify driving over someone because they were in your way.
Speeding doesn't justify shooting out their tires to slow them down.

The order in which the laws are broken is irrelevant. It just means more than one law was broken and punishment should be delivered to both, by those authorized to deliver it.

So ticket the cyclist and put the old man in jail for attempted murder/assault with a deadly weapon.
