I know you're closer to 5 than you are to being a father yourself, so you maybe you don't quite understand the benefits to having a game that a father and young son can both play and both get something from it. Just because easy is easy doesn't make it not "brilliant". Many brilliant games have a super-dumb-easy mode.

Breaking is the #2 most important thing in a racing game after accelerating...i wouldn't call the game breaking for you "a benefit"...then again, for a 5 year old...it's a whole different story.

Wow.. Really?

Braking is important for sure, but its not just about that. Theres a LOT more to racing than just braking.

Also for future reference braking is accelerating

Last I checked hitting the brakes changed your velocity. Does it not?

Sorry, had to post this b/c I was tired of watching you guys argue about GT5/Forza.

LOL.
RavenSeal's credibility is going that way fast ----------------------->

GOING that way? dude it's been that way for quite some time now with probably 50% of the ATCG members having him on ignore. He is the definition of a fanboy.

it is just freaking LOL that he thinks AI is an 'easy patchable feature' LOL. kid really has absolutely no clue.

LOL? How is it not? Care to go indepth since you know sooooo much about programming? Specially since you've made how many AAA exclusive titles?

there is absolutely 0 reason to try and explain things to you because you have your mind made up before you even read our responses.

if it's 'so easy to update the AI in GT' then why has the AI virtually remained unchanged since the first game on PSX? are you even old enough to remember that game?

As i mentioned before, this isn't 1999, 2002 or 2005, GT5 has full online capabilities and patches are never out of the question. Now, as you were saying, the game is so extremely horribly tremendously impossible to patch because...? I'm hoping for a fully technical answer that will forever silence me.

i never said it was tremendously impossible to patch a game, you are the one who is claiming it is so easy - you are the one who is supposed bring the proof since you made the claim first.

like i've told you before, i work in software development, and i know from experience that 'patching' a piece of software is not nearly as easy as you make it out to be. the entire piece of software has to be designed from the ground up to have holes in it that allow patching. do i know if gt5 has this? no.

but the fact that i KNOW that ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE is one of the hardest things to program in general, from my experience and knowledge of programming in general, and that the AI hasn't changed in the GT series in 5 iterations, makes it pretty easy to assume that it isn't going to change through a DLC patch, especially with how long this game took to come out and it still isn't complete.

can it? of course. will it? chances are about as slim as duke nukem forever coming out.

on that note i'm done trying to talk logically and reasonably with you cause it is a waste of time. at least everyone else can see how dense you are (as if they didnt already know)

I'm on your side about the whole ravenseal is an idiot troll and all, but DNF is coming out next year.

And I would be willing to bet they don't fix the AI. They have started announcing future updates and patches/fixes, and there has been no mention of AI changes.

LOL, you're the one pretending that this is 2002 and there is no way of fixing anything in the game, seems to me like you're the one hating, get a life bro.

If you think PD is going to revolutionize their own piss-poor AI in a patch, then I want some of whatever it is you're smoking. PD doesn't care about AI or they wouldn't have implemented the same logic from GT1. Seriously, there has been no noticeable improvement from the first iteration. If you think that all of a sudden now that the game is released, they're going to dedicate a team of programmers to coming up with an entirely new AI set because a few people are bitching about it (again, ignoring the fact that the other 4 GT's had the same complaint and nothing was done about it), you're dreaming.

Yes back on topic please...

My picks are:
GRID - Fun arcadey racer with a tremendous sense of speed, and awesome damage models.
NFS Shift: More of a sim racer, but still a great sense of speed, and the cockpit view is awesome.
Dirt 2: This isn't what I would call a "pure" rally game, but it is still fun nonetheless, and would work well with a wheel.
Forza 3: I haven't played it myself, but I've heard good things. Btw: just because a game is bundled with a console doesn't mean it's a bad game.

Cool...thanks!

Anomaly, like i've said before, if you want something that is closer to a racing simulator, you want Forza 3.

If you're looking for something that more of arcade style, you want either burnout or Need for speed Shift/Hot Pursuit.
