I've never taken a driving test. I drove in Drivers Ed but never at the DMV to get a license. Guess I'm lucky. Passed the written on the first try easily though. I was about the only one taking it at the time that passed I think. I heard the lady tell a lot of people they failed the written test.

Why drivers ed is not a required course in every school across the country is beyond me. My folks were smart enough to say "you're not getting your license until you get lessons"

there's three tests here: one written and two road. I passed the written and first road easily enough. I'm gonna take the second road test in a few years.

Yup. Only got a few points taken off too, but that was the instructor being a douche.

When you parallel park, you're supposed to get a chance to get a little closer if you're a little too far away from the curb. My insructor didn't allow me to correct that, and also did not inform me that 6" is too far from the curb.

Apparently, she has never driven a car with expensive wheels on it before and didn't know about staying safe :frown:

The third time was the charm with the road test. I think it was harder dealing with the NYC attitude than the actual test. I intentionally failed the second test since I knew it was over before it even began the moment I saw who was testing me from the DMV. She had me park behind a car that was obviously getting out and then told me to stop in the middle of the test just so she can chat with her DMV co-workers for a few minutes. At this point, I knew it was pretty much over, so I figured if she was going to piss me off than I would piss her off too. So I floored it, made a hard left, floored it more and then finished it off with a hard break. She got out all pissed off and never wrote why I failed.

Passed my first road test on the first try. All you need to do is read the guide book and do everything you're supposed to do. Around here you have to wait at least 2 years after your first test before you can take the second test, to get a full license. I'm probably going to take the second one this summer. Might be harder, though, because I've no doubt picked up some bad habits.

Passed my second time. Got an instant fail when I fail the first time when I pulled over on the side and didn't look in my mirrors.
