I definitely don't like driving the 951 in workboots, but other than that I don't usually notice much of a difference.

Can;t drive with flip flops especially when I am driving a Manual.

But I pretty much drive and walk everyday with my trusty Addidas Goodyear shoes on. It just mates with the pedals and I like it.

This is the same with me, right down to the Adidas Goodyears.

Same as most, a minute or two to adjust but any type of shoe/boot/barefoot is fine. If I have flip flops I just kick them off, I like to drive barefoot in the few months of warm weather we actually get.

Last manual I had was a 6sp WS6, that was a blast to drive barefoot. It's almost like a fetish I suppose, because a chick who drives a stick shifts barefooted would be pretty hot now that I think about it.

i find it very unsettling to change shoes, and very difficult to drive the manual with work boots. i prefer my adidas racers:

but can manage with thick-soled gazelles

ha, a girl that drives a 5 speed, and loves it, is hot.. doesn't have to be barefoot.

my last GF was good @ driving it, but sadly did not want to own one... made me sad

Both my everyday pairs of Puma shoes are considered "driving" shoes and have no problems but when I drive to/from work in my dress shoes I always have a little problem at first in the morning when pulling away in first gear before I adjust. Don't have enough feel with the dress shoes but it only really bothers me when I'm still tired.

Dress shoes mess me up. My normal work shoes are a pair of Skechers and shose I'm used to because I wear them every day. Sneakers I'm fine with. I actually prefer driving with sneakers because the rubber on the sole is softer and I can feel the clutch better. Sandals take some adjustment but I get used to them again every summer.

i'll only drive in sneakers. therefore i refuse to work in boots or any kind of steeltoe- if nonskids are required, i'll get nonskid sneakers. if i need to wear something else for any other reason, i'll change shoes when i get there.

I usually drive in Chuck taylors. It's comfortable, and I get near-barefoot sensitivity with the pedals. I also have a thin-soled pair of Timberlands that are reasonable, but nowhere near as good as my chucks. My feet freeze in the winter though.

I have no idea about running shoes because I only started driving 2 years ago, and the only pair of running shoes I have has a plastic shoe insert which pretty much kills all sensitivity in my foot. I can't even bike in those; keep missing the pedal.
