Jesus, WTF? No wonder people have to spend so much money on phones. I just got a Droid, and it's already obsolete? Freakin' worse than computers... lol

So in order to upgrade, I'll have to pay full retail price.. Screw that.. lol

Droid will be like 8 months old by the time the Droid X releases. That's not so bad for an interval between devices.

Keep in mind the Droid 1 has been rooted and its roms have had 8 months to bake. The Droid X will need to be rooted and probably need longer for the roms to mature because of the Droid 1's 30% Android market share.

oh man it might be using the OMAP4440, it was said that the 36xx can only display S-Video out but the OMAP 4 series can do HDMI out! the 4440 is clocked at 1ghz

also Winston25 at howardforum recently said

and his previous posts lead me to believe he has used/tested the device..ect

I highly doubt that. OMAP4 devices won't be out for a while longer--and they are mostly dual-core.

Also, the GPU on an OMAP4 would probably be SGX 540-class, not 530.

Well they are saying the 36xx can only output S-video and the 4xxx can do HDMI. Well I guess time will tell.

So what makes this one more attractive than an EVO? Hardware buttons? That's all I can think of specs wise. Verizon and Motorola are the others but I'm not sure that amounts to much.

Looks awesome, dude

How about a pic while you are browsing on android-hilfe.de
Is there a new music player?

Edit: I hope it comes to Europe

Ok gripes about MotoBlur aside... thing looks sexy.

Still wish there was confirmation on the multicolored notification LED. Yeah I know it seems like such a miniscule issue but it's really nice being able to customize the LED based on the notification type.

On my Droid, I use green for Gmail, cyan for SMS/MMS, red for missed calls, etc.

You can test this with ChompSMS or Handcent, UNCJigga... if you're bored.

Oh and how do the speakers sound? Similar to the Droid?

Works!

Umm, so what should I post pics of?

Could we possibly get pictures of all the different MotoBLUR widgets? Like the new weather, news, facebook, calendar, etc widgets. These should all be new for the new motoBlur, i would love to see them to get an idea of the changes. Thanks!

Could you post some screens shots of the system information (memory, storage, etc).

Thanks for these contributions.

I was wondering if you could comment on the length of time the notification light stays lit after receiving a voicemail, email or sms?

Phones like the Incredible extinguish their notification lights after a certain amount of time to save energy -- at the cost of the user knowing that they received a message of some sort.

The Incredible was apparently hard-coded to behave that way after just 5 or 6 minutes -- which is a complete non-starter for me -- especially if I have to "wake" the phone up 30 times a day just to see if I got a message (using way more energy that just simply letting the LED flash).

Do you happen to know if the X has the same duration limitation?
