Looks like an improvement over the Moto Droid 1 I have but not enough that I'd run out and buy it.

I'm reading that the reason they mentioned 7-2010 and that ONLY is because they want to be the first with 2.2 and they are still waiting for final touches to it by Google. And that's why there's no official date. and today they'll show us a 2.2 X and tell us it's coming in July.

Even if you manage to find that "hole in coverage, you cna roam for free.

854x480 res. seems kinda low for such a large screen. the iphone 4 is supposedly going to have a 960x640 screen res, on a smaller screen size.

Still most likely I will go with the Droid X tho.

So July 15th is the official release day, $199 with $100 rebate, but no Froyo at launch.

Similar res/size as the HTC Evo or the HTC HD2.

Its not as sharp as the smaller screens (such as the original Droid, with the same res on 3.7, or the iPhone 4), but its still pretty good, and the extra size makes up for it.

That's global; so in recent times there has been the hot selling galaxy S overseas and evo in usa. What they don't say is 160K daily for what period ?

The Droid actually had pretty good battery life. Best I've had in a recent smartphone.

I'm against the concept whether it's VZW or AT&T. I've already posted my thoughts about AT&T charging extra for tethering. I'll stick to my unlocked phones without branded firmware thank you very much. I've been tethering since 2006.

Obviously Froyo made a big mention of tethering, but it seems every carrier will just slap that feature back into history. What I would've preferred was for this feature to be unlocked with Froyo, but not necessarily bundled.

Just like WinMo and Symbian devices support tethering only if you find an app that does it (like Joikuspot which costs money). As a result no one really cracks down on WinMo devices tethering, but when it comes to Android where they shove tethering in your face, every carrier knows it HAS to crack down.

D1s battery life is fine, I'd be happy with the same battery life after moving up to a huge screen and faster processor and more ram. Plus, they announced an extended battery that only adds 1mm of thickness.

I have a Milestone overclocked at 1ghz. I can get 1 day out of it with about 30-40% left before I go to bed with light-moderate use. Heavier use with some gaming can get me 20-30% left.

I push email from 8-6 everyday.
