Bump, this thread died after the official launch Wed.
Holy hell, will do asap. I plan on getting an X and pray every night that Koush will make CM work for it. If it can be rooted that is...FYI, the new Alldroid.org will be giving away a Droid X to one lucky developer, selected by community members. Go vote for Koush so we can get Cyanogen Mod the X.

There's been a few reviews. Overall, lots of positive news about the X.

I'd be interested to see how it compares to the EVO since they have very similar form factors. Improved battery life over the EVO could be a big win for the X.
Also I'm not sure if this info is in your links, I didn't have time to read them.
The 1540mAh battery included with the Motorola DROID X is rated to provide up to 8 hours of talk time or 9.5 days of standby time on a full charge. During our testing, we were able to get up to an amazing 9 hours and 30 minutes of talk time on a full charge, which completely blows away the Motorola DROID at 7hr 30min talk time (1400mAh battery), and crushes the HTC Droid Incredible at a measly 5hr 30min talk time (1300mAh battery). Furthermore, the larger battery on the Motorola DROID X was able to provide it up to 30 hours of mixed usage on a full charge(which includes some talk, text, email, web, app usage, and standby), compared to just about 24 hours on the Motorola DROID, and 20 hours on the HTC Droid Incredible. Clearly, having a higher capacity battery on the Motorola DROID X is sure to come in handy.
The first review from Phonearena claimed the battery life on the X is very good. I'm not sure how accurate this is but:
He didn't test the EVO alongside the Droid X for battery life it seems but the stock battery sounds pretty good IMO with an even beefier batter coming out soon after.
So there some stuff going around that this phone might have an Encrypted boat loader. hmm
So there some stuff going around that this phone might have an Encrypted boot loader. hmm
If the CPU can run it and start up the phone, it can't be that well encrypted :awe:
Do you mind clarifying what you mean by that? I've been keeping up with 3 or 4 forums on the Droid X and the most recent topic of concern has been the likely encryption of the bootloader, leading to the possible inability to root the device. It seems that a lot of people (including me) have now reevaluated their intent to purchase the X due to the likelihood of not being able to attain root...so if you can provide any insight I'm sure many of us would be grateful.
The most prevalent example I'm hearing is the Milestone's lack of root after more than seven months on the market.
Thanks for your help.
Do you really, really think this isn't going to be rooted? It is a matter of time.
That's what I'm hoping...I just don't know enough about it though...new to andriod. All the doom and gloom about the encrypted bootloader combined with the lack of root on the other motorola device with an encrypted bootloader just makes me wonder.
I have faith though...I just have no idea if that's due to my ignorance about the issue.
OK, I just saw some more hype at infosyncworld.com about the Droid X.
I wish they were more like their namesake and provided info instead of recycles rumors and stuff.

Am pissed they touted their cute little soft buttons as being superior when they released the Droid, and now they seem to think hard buttons are the way to go. Motorola is more wishy-washy than Apple.
