this might be a dumb question, but what was the point of releasing this device if it is not 4G? People are still buying 3G phones?
Uh, take a look at the 4G coverage map. If you don't live in one of those green dots, it doesn't make much sense to get a 4G phone right now. Clearly, in 2 years, when the contract comes up on the Dx2, I'd wager Verizon's entire smart phone catalog will be 4G.
Heck, Verizon just said recently they wanted to phase as their 3G entirely by 2013. Hopefully, this means LTE will have a very fast expansion and ramp up. I think they've deployed more in the past month than Sprint did in the past year with Wimax.
