anyway, what mobo/memory/hsf/psu setup should i use if i want to overclock it? never overclocked b4......

Go to GameVE and get a Abit NF7-S ver2 for $113. Screamer of a MB and the most reliable and overclockable NF2 board out there....You'll need some 2700-3500 DDR....2 stick's allows dual channel operation for more speed....

I've got a at7max2 coming soon, and may do a 0+1 raid setup (with 4 10gbs, it'll be fast but not all that roomy). Can't wait for my first AMD experiance.

just ordered the 1700 from newegg...still deciding on which motherboard should i get.....here are some choices from reading the posts:

1. Abit NF7-S ver2 for $113 (suggested by JETninja)
2. Abit NF7-S original for $86 (what's the difference between this and ver2?)
3. Epox 8RDA+ for $89
4. Other suggestions?

as for memory, getting 1 stick of pc3200 512....what brand should i get?

Newegg now has it for $43 but googlegear's $44 gets you a T-Bred B 1700+ DUT3C guaranteed.

Got mine last night, bumped it up to 12.5 x 166 (XP 2600+ speed) at default voltage. Nice deal.

I ordered 2 of them on sunday and they both came yesterday.

they are both B cores!!!

I was going to use them in my Dually board, but decided that since my friend and I both have Xp2000's in our primary systems that I will trade him my Bcore for his XP2000 and I will use the 2000's in the dually board because we can both overclock the 1700's farther than our 2000's.

Well, from the results, they look like AXDA1700DUT3C JIUHB 0312 (XPMW / VPMW / etc...) If you guys want to get DLT3C at these prices, just forget it! The probability is nil, if you want a DLT3C, cough up $30 more at excaliber.

got a B. running at 12x166. tried to boost the multiplier more but it wouldn't post... i didn't play around with the voltage, though, so that might be a factor. stable at 2000mhz though. i'm happy

I have to use 1.725v for 12.5*166, 1.625v is super stable for 12*166.

Sorry, been gone a few days! Version 2.0 has the newest NForce2 Chip...it supports Official FSB200Mhz. It has some other minor improvements all over, and is the best overclocker of the bunch. (the Abit is by far the best of the NForce2 boards in this regard) You can learn all about it on the main page of this site! (Get out of the forums now and then! LOL!)
