Like jaleponc above, I have mine in an MSI k7400. I increased the clock multiplier to 175, and it runs at about 1937 and 50 degrees.

I have left the motherboard bios on auto for the core voltage. If I increase the volatage from the current 1.65 to 1.75 will it either

run cooler--or

run faster?

Thanks

"If I increase the volatage from the current 1.65 to 1.75 will it either..."

It will run hotter, but you can THEN change the multiplier so it runs faster, which will again raise the heat output. If you're not going to be overclocking any further, you shouldn't be raising the voltage so long as it's stable, you should instead be figuring out how much LOWER than default voltage it will go and remain stable, to decrease heat.

A bit of basic physics:

power = voltage * amperage
voltage = amperage * resistance

Shuffle the equations, and you get power = voltage-squared divided by resistance.

Since the question was about raising voltage, and since those tiny little traces on the cpu will have the same resistance, applying more voltage will raises power output by a geometric factor, with concomitant heat output. If you double the voltage for the same chip, you should get approximately four times the power consumption and four times the heat produced.

Got my chip today. Seems like NewEgg has some DLT3C that are the same ones as SVC. But only cheaper. Got mine for $42+tax free shipping.

the chip says:
AXDA1700DLT3C
JIUHB 0319wPMW

the new week 19 versions. supposedly they are good as the 310s. Still fairly new as people are still getting them and OC'ing them. So far on my a7n8x deluxe board i've got it at 200x11.5 for 2300 mhz @ 1.75 vcore.

So far stable as i'm still running prime95 on it. passed 3 hours at least so far. I have trouble going any higher though as my ram is a POS ram and is rated at 2100 while i still push it to 2700. i'm also cooling with SK-6+ and a 60mm fan that is 30 CFM at 5500 rpm but runs 5000 rpm on the mobo (supposedly going faster can pull too much power from the mobo and it'll all crash and burn). But my temps never go over 50 C at full load still, so i'm happy.

my bios won't let me go any higher for the vcore though. i'm hearing that @ 1.85 it has gone up to 2.5 ghz.
So far i've heard to increase vcore is to close the bridges with conductive paint/grease on the new chip, but i'm still a newbie on OC. though i might try it later in the future .

These DLT3C from NewEgg are great! Go NewEgg!

This chip, to say the least, is one impressive overclocker. I've got the TBred'B JIUHB DLT (1.5vcore defualt) box date 0310 WPMW XP1700+ and an Abit NF7-S v2.0 with 2x256 Geil DC-PC3500 Ultra Plat and i'm a very happy camper.

I'm cooling the cpu with the SubZero4G (which is quite impressive as well) and running it at 2566mhz (11.5x223 cas 2.0-2-3-3 nforce2) with 1.75vcore! w0w! th!5 5y5t3m i5 tW34k3D. My benchmarks in Sandra come in ALU=9599 / FPU=3862. These are comparative to the P4-3.06 on FPU and better than a SMP 2x3.06 P4 on the ALU! All for how much? lol. This is beating my P4-1.6a oc'd to 2.88GHz Intel rig. I guess it's time to concentrate on upgrading that one now, hehe. I'm looking at a nice new Abit IC7-G right now in fact.

Yah well, all i got to say is this is the fastest system this gurl's 3v3r 0wn3d. ...p34c3

Mine was a DUTC B but im not mad.

People can go 2.4G with those DLT3C easily with lower voltage, so 2.2G ......

And price is so right at $41. For the SVC $59 price, it's not that good since barton 2500 only $93 now.

Please report if anyone else got dlt3c from newegg recently.

I have 2 dlt3c's (0308) at home so I'm well aware of what they can do (just wish I had better memory...)

**CONFIRMED**

Ordered on 6/10, I just got the exact same chip as vidar2 today:

xp1700 DLT3C JIUHB, 0319WPMW (week 19). Also, from what i gather before the batch number 0314, i have "28" is this a downgraded XP2800?

WOOHOO! I'm gonna overclock this bitch on my new Epox 8rda+ and mushkin PC3200 DDR and see if i can get XP3200 speeds (= to P4 3.06 GHz) with a 200 (400) Mhz FSB! Hmm, this for $41, or a P4 3.06 ghz for around $410. I think I'll take the AMD for 1/10 the price.

/me goes off to post in Brag and Moan

they probably don't

neither does newegg..

Its a gamble either way, but see above ^^^, seems like your chances, for $41, are pretty good that you're getting a kickass CPU from newegg.
