Probably would be good to test your kids with if they have been staying out late a lil too much or acting wierd.

i dont drink either, and dont smoke anything either.. i drink about 4 times a year so im not a party animal myself. i just hate ppl that get that defensive-syndrome.

in most cases if you think a kids smoking pot, he is. and ive seen way to many lives go too the wayside in my generation becasue the parents were too leanient or didnt lay down the law that their kids couldnt hang out with scumbags.

buy the kit, it could save their life.. yer kids are not supposed to like you if you are doing your job of making sure they turn into capable citizens.

kids are too aggressive and parents have gotten too "cool".

As Ronald Reagan used to say, "Trust, but verify." It's not about respect - it's about doing whatever it takes to keep your kid alive. When you're old enough and have a teenager who is heading towards death because of drugs, you'll understand. At least I hope you will.

hahahaha... kids these days have NO RIGHT to privacy. I should know, I'm a teenager. If parents did this randomly, i'd say at least 50% of the kids out there would be fvcked.

The only problem is many times the parents are worse than their kids. One of my friends walked in on her dad smoking some pot the other day, and ended up smoking with him. The only thing worse these days than kids are the parents of some of these kids.

Yeah, my kid tried to punch me, took swings at me with a shovel, and threw a concrete birdbath at me. His ass landed involuntarily into an in-patient drug treatment facility for 6 weeks. These days his expectation level of privacy in my house has been greatly reduced.

Hey, everyone flame me some more, because honestly, I know how you all know me so well.

I'm 17, I've never touched a drug in my life (this includes cigarettes and booze, minus the one time I accidentally drank a gulp of dark beer thinking it was soda at a party). I'm just not interested. I have two ideals I live by: Try not to do anything you'll regret, and Any sort of Vice is a bad thing.

The first reply to me is right. There are lots of kids that spout that crap and don't deserve it, but if I've earned my respect in my house, why shouldn't I be allowed it?

You people fail to realize this is a family-by-family deal here. You're all generalizing and stereotyping. This isn't an airport, this is the Hot Deals forum. Be nice and sociable, dammit.

If my school did random drug tests and I was chosen? Good. I will do it with a puffed chest. They don't personally know me, so I accept that, and I totally understand the reasoning. But I trust my parents, and thankfully they trust me. I never said I was entitled to it, I just happen to have it as a privelidge. Furthermore, I would never hurt my parents in any way, I love them dearly. They've done so much for me.

Many teenagers don't find their parents to be people they can talk to and constantly say the truth. I can honestly say, will much pride, that I have never lied to my parents. Never. Some of you more stereotyping/generalizing folks here may find that funny, but I figure that's why I don't respect you as much as the next upstanding personality I meet anyway.

you don't do anything wrong so you should have no fear of drug testing. i highly doubt then that you give your parents a reason to be suspicious and to even consider a kit like this for you, but buddy, saying you'd punch 'em in the face with your boot is still so wrong.

I don't fear the test. I just fear my parents feeling they need to do it. I honestly feel that way, as opposed to it being an excuse.

You're right, I would never give them a reason. If I did something, they would know. I feel that way because it'll always be better with them behind me than with them against me.

...about the physical abuse... You're right about that being uncalled for, but I guess it's something I'm known for: My off-the-wall sarcasm (typical). My parents would probably laugh about it. That's just the environment I live in, I apologize for any of you who took it to mean I'd seriously get angry and violent more than saddened and upset.

One of your friends' dad smokes pot so your friend decided to smoke with him? and you are friends with this person while still denouncing the activities they partake in?

And btw whats wrong with adults smoking pot in the first place? Their are millions of successful, hardworking, reponsible adults who smoke pot for the same reason the vast majority of adults drink alcohol.

I have personally never smoked (or drank) anything that would be illegal for me as a minor to do, but I see no problem with adults smoking pot, and if they felt their children could also then whats the problem with that?
