No, he's a dick because he chose to withhold information from his customer. Apparently you disagree, but a quick read through that thread shows most think a decent person would lower the price/inform the buyer of their concerns.

yeah i could go either way on this. I would have to see the add. if he sold it "like new" then yeah thats not right. But if he just was offering a used but working 360....thats generally buyer beware and due dilligence is on the buyer. sooo...i dunno but thats off topic anyhow.

I've seen, and sent home, way more people due to being drunk/hungover than I ever have from them being high and this is in a city where it is pretty much legal, and during tenures in two very different industries.

We don't track this, but if I had to hazard a guess, the number of man hours we lose to booze is over 10x as high (probably higher) than the man hours we lose to any "illegal" substances like pot, etc.

I'm not condoning being high at work, I don't think anyone should be taking drugs of any kind (except prescribed meds, which are a whole other ball of wax really) including booze, while under someone's employ, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of it all.

KT

I can agree with that, especially when I see company-sponsored events featuring alcohol.

who said smoking weed is stupid? It's a lot less stupid than drinking alcohol or smoking cigarrettes (or eating a big mac really)

1) Yes it is. It's illegal, so it's clearly more stupid. You can not be arrested for being in possession of alcohol/cigarettes (per se).

2) You're clearly claiming that since you morally find pot ok, then it's ok, but still then, why would it be a lot less stupid than alcohol?

Yes it is? What is? I didn't ask what anything is. I stated something.

AND LOL OMG THIS IS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST IGNORANT THINGS IVE READ IN A LONG TIME>

"it's illegal, so it's clearly more stupid"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

It's bad because it's illegal, and it's illegal because it's bad, right? HAHAHA OMG

It's a lot less stupid than alcohol for MANY reasons.

1. Relative health effects
2. Amount of intoxication when consumed
3. RESULTS of intoxication
4. Pot is welcomed by the body. Alcohol is rejected by the body.
etc
etc
etc

The fact that you would use legality to define the stupidity of use is very ignorant and blindingly sub-servant.

btw. I'm not saying you are ignorant. Just that your one specific stance on this subject is ignorant. I'm bright but often ignorant to many things. so i dont mean to personally attack you. just that one opinion.

That's why I said per se. Possession of them isn't going to get you arrested providing you aren't breaking any other law (under age, open containers, while driving, etc.).

possession won't get you arrested(citation only) in many parts of this country either. So again not certain thats a fair comparison.

It seems to me he is saying it is less stupid from a health standpoint. Whether that's true or not, I'm not realy sure.

... snip ...

Yes it is was in response to smoking pot not being stupid. Really I'm playing devil's advocate - I don't have anything against the occasional pot smoker and I really don't feel that pot is that big of a deal.

I don't think it's "bad because it's illegal," that's arguing morality vs law. I don't agree with many laws on a moral basis. Pot for example, I'd love to see it legalized as I don't have any moral objections. However, the fact that you're calling me ignorant for saying breaking the law is stupid just goes to show how inane your argument is. Do I break some laws? Of course I do. Risk vs reward. Hell, I've smoked pot a few times when offered. But to say that it's NOT stupid to break a law that could give you prison time is.. well, stupid. To summarize, I do not think pot is "bad" per se, but it IS illegal which makes using stupid because there can be significant ramifications if caught. If it were legal, I'd be all for those who want to smoke using.

Regarding the your other claims .. were you high when you wrote them, or what propaganda were you reading?

1. Relative health effects
2. Amount of intoxication when consumed
3. RESULTS of intoxication
4. Pot is welcomed by the body. Alcohol is rejected by the body.
etc
etc
etc

Pot is welcomed by the body? Were you high when you wrote that? Seriously?

And in many places a third strike possession will get you a mandatory sentence. So again, I disagree. Let me clarify again, since it doesn't seem clear. I, personally, don't have a problem with smoking pot, I wish it were legal. However, it is illegal, and the ramifications of its use are more severe than alcohol/tobacco. That's all I'm saying.

Not sure why you guys are arguing over this. His employer doesn't want a pot head working for them. Plain and simple. Who gives a shit about the legality of smoking weed or your opinion. It's black and white.

insurance co. offer steep discounts to employers who drug test i.e. pre employment, random and prob.cause. The feds require it for all safety sensitive emp. and the definition of safety sensitive gets expanded every year to include more employees. Rest assured there is a drug test awaiting all of you in the future. Driver license will require it before long just like commercial truckers must submit to maintain a DL.

Sudafed hasn't contained pseudoephedrine since like '04.

Poppy seeds will produce false positives for opioids.
I just checked this and it sure as heck still contains pseudoephedrine. I really hope some guy supporting the war on drugs gets his ass fired because he tests positive for meth and doesn't understand why.

http://www.sudafed.com/#adult/nasal/tablets

I might as well also post images of pseudoephedrine and meth so you can understand how someone could possibly confuse the two when taste testing your urine.

Sudafed:

Meth, oooooh meth:

The difference is that OH group next to the ring. The rest of the molecule is the exact same. The metabolites are very similar.

Pot is welcomed by the body? Were you high when you wrote that? Seriously?
A lot of people think drugs are welcome in the body just because the body has receptors for drugs. Nicotine even has receptors named after it; they are called nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Sure nicotine has its special receptors, just like marijuana does, but that doesn't make nicotine any less poisonous. Heroin affects opioid receptors, and yes they're actually named after opium.

Using the logic that something perfectly fitting something else implies that the two belong together, I can claim that the body craves cyanide. The body normally transports oxygen in the blood using a molecule called hemoglobin. Cyanide sticks to hemoglobin and it fits so well that the two never separate. A person can suffocate in a room filled with 1% hydrocyanic acid and 99% oxygen because their body "wanted" the cyanide more than the oxygen.

Good I have no problem as I do not smoke pot or do any drugs nor do I drink and drive.

Now all they have to do is test the fuckers on welfare using the money to buy dope with instead feeding thier family. You test postive for drugs then no money. Your family was not getting it any way as evident by the crack in your system.

Smoking anything is not the best idea.

However, no i was not high.

My brother smoked a lot of pot when I was growing up and I was very against it (and everything really, I was stuck up). My senior year I did a research paper on it, and everything I found out turned my opinion on it. Since then, I've been very pro legalization since I realized is relatively harmless.

Eating weed is absolutely harmless. And the stuff that makes you high, THC, your brain actually has receptors for it. So yea, your body welcomes it (that's why you feel so good when you receive it into your system), like oxygen, and water. Google it. Who'da thunk right?

Some of use don't like the idea of giving up our personal freedoms for a job just because some assholes want more money. You implying someone is a "pot head" for failing a drug test just shows your ignorance. As long as it hurts no one else, what I do on my own time is my business. If I'm not doing my job well enough, or at all, then we have a situation.

Plain and simple.

its legal here for medical use that you can get for 150$.. say your eyes are to white, your mouth has to much moisture, lack of appetite.. i dont find it good or bad just saying.. if you sign something ahead of time ya you shouldnt use it.. if it comes up after then i guess there will be some battles in court over medical use.. to tempting for me so i dont use at all.. i do think its prob healthier to drink one beer a night than to get high.. but never done any big research tho i have seen brain scans of drunks and their brain is GONE>>

It's fact you silly mofo. I pointed to a link about SCIENCE. I just happened to use a link from a pro pot site since they have an interest in explaining it well.

You can google it. It's not up for debate.

The brain has Cannabanoid/THC receptors in it. Whether it's there specifically for the consumption of pot or not is a different story (more than likely just a coincedence) but the fact remains the THC in weed that gets you high is welcomed by the body, not rejected like Alcohol.

If I said the sky was blue, then pointed you to a link from a GOP website where it stated the sky was blue, would you discredit it because it was on the GOP site and they have an interest in painting a pretty picture? Or you would think "heh, a fact is a fact?"

What the hell does that have to do with anything? Nobody is arguing that.
