DS3 POWER SUPPLY 12V question

I don't ever remember having this problem before.

I have a DS3 and a ePOWER/Tagan TG-530-U15 530W

I pluged the 24-pin power connector in. I then also plugged in the little extra P4 4 pin power connector to the spot above the CPU.

Tried to turn on the computer it kind of just turns on for about 2 secs then turns off, on, off, on, off, on, off then it just stays off.

I unplugged the little extra 4 pin P4 power on the mobo and it powered up fine....

In the Motherboard manual it says if the ATX 12V is not plugged in the system will not boot.

So I am trying to understand what?s going on. The main power cord can be 20 pin or 24 pin it all depends if I have the little extra 4 pin 12V attached to the 20 pin power cord.

But I also have the 2nd 12v 4-pin P4 connector.

Am I missing something? Should I only have 1 plugged in? Its like the DS3 could take a 20-pin power connector and the P4 Power connector, OR the 24 pin power connector but leave the P4 unconnected.

Um, help anyone?

I have the 700w Silverstone, and the DS3, and I put both of them in. Works like a champ.
