got a doozy for you. Got a guy on a forum says that he according to Verizon has to connect his pc to his router to get an internet connection. Also while his PC can connect to the Internet his 360 cannot. According to the 360 it is not pulling the DNS from his router. From everything I've talked to him about all setting look good. He's tried to connect his PC directly to his modem (which is about 6 years old) it will not connect to the internet but presents him with a 169 address. Cycling his router and modem doesn't fix this nor does resetting his PC network card. His 360 neither will connect directly to the modem either. There is no PPPoE being used. Seems to me some kind of setting in his Verizon modem is not sending the DNS servers IP's to his computer. What I don't get it why does it work when his router it connect to his pc but not directly AND if his PC works on the Internet when connected the router why doesn't the 360 connect. Weird. His router is a DLink DI-614+
If anything he should be able to connect either directly to his modem otherwise if his router goes caputs he's out of luck. Input is appreciated and I'll pass it along to him.
