Hey gang, my wife's small business switched from Verizon DSL to the local cable company for phone and internet on Friday. After about 2 hours they got all of the phones working, but apparently they left without the internet working. They have a fairly simple network with a wireless router, a small switch, and a handful of wired ports.
I don't have a lot of experience with DSL - none in fact. So I was just curious if there were any settings in their router or PC's which were DSL specific that now need to be switched. I thought it would be a fairly seamless transition, where the cable model just provides the IP to the router just like with the DSL, but something is not right. As far as my wife said, they only ran a new line to the outside and installed the new modem. I hope they at least hooked up to the existing router.
I was going to swing by tomorrow to see if I could find out anything, but wanted to check with you guys first just incase.
Thanks!
