Yes, multicoated UV filters. I also have ND filters, but I just put them on over the UV.

mostly, but my husband noticed that he saw green dots on our 50mm 1.8. as soon as the filter was removed, the green dots were gone. i'm a little concerned about protecting the lens without the filter

why is this dslr only? I had lens/filter adaptors for my sony s70 and canon g50. I usually kept the UV filter on.

Because putting filters on a point-and-shoot is like putting angel eyes on a Mazda (OUCH! sorry aphex! I know you'll be in here at some point j/k )

As for filters and me, I've yet to venture into that world. The Sigma 105mm macro I'm getting tomorrow comes with a UV filter, so that will break my cherry with filters. I'd love to pick up a ND filter at some point, although it will be hard not to go with the best and spend the bucks on a B+W. Gotta hide that one from the future wifey if I break down and get one.

Yes, I have a number of UV filters to protect from the sunlight or any type light from distorting my pics...



I also utilize special lenses for special light effects as well.

I keep a UV filter on my Nikon D70s (18-70mm kit lens). I really need to pick up a circular polarizer though, glare is just killing some of my shots.
