I'd say go for it, I prepared my elderly grandparents months ago..then again not every elderly person has grandchildren available willing to research DTV converter boxes for them. And the ineffective distribution of the couponing has only made it harder to deal with.
Most people on here stand to benefit more from 4G service than analog TV (myself included), but I can see the reasons for the delay.

They should just bite the bullet and allocate more fund to the coupon program. A couple more millions in deficit is not going to make a difference anyway.
Uhh, you do realize that the converter program ran out of money, right? More people ended up asking for vouchers than they estimated. It's not throwing money at the problem, it's using the proceeds of the spectrum sale to cover the costs of the conversion, and in this case more money from the sale needs allocated to the converter program to finish that.Originally posted by: Proprioceptive

Yeah, that's right, throw more money at the problem. Isn't that what this country's politicians are voted to do now anymore? Damn political hacks have no clue what they're voting on. Just pull the plug and everyone who was responsible and got their converter will reap the benefits... those who didn't, well, fail. Tough luck for them. Wasn't the central theme of Obama's inauguration speech "responsibility" anyways. So far he's gone above and beyond to promote exactly the opposite.

Probably because many people are requesting coupons when they don't need them or can afford to buy them at full retail price. According to the estimates I've seen, between about 10-15 million households rely solely on terrestrial OTA broadcasts.
