I just got a Dell 2405FPW and love it! I want to get a second one but I'm not sure which video card to get. Here is the problem:

I currently have the 24" and an 18" LCD hooked up to my 9700 pro through DVI and VGA. I would like to get a video card that has dual DVI but I'm not sure if there are any AGP video cards that support dual DVI and would allow me to run games on this monitor. I'm not a huge gamer so I don't really need top of the line, but I would like to play the latest games at a reasonable framerate. If it means saving money, I wouldnt mind playing games at a lower resolution than that of the native resolution of the 2405FPW.

Do I need to buy a new mobo that has a PCI-e slot or are there any AGP cards out there that have dual DVI and are powerful enough to let me game on?

I have a Dell 2405 amazing monitor...

I my graphics card is a AGP x800Pro. It runs the monitor very well. I sometimes wish for a little bit better video card... but I still can run most games really well.

At the present time, AGP is more then fast enough, even for the newest cards, but Nvidia and ATI both seem to have stopped making new high end AGP cards ...

I think you should look for a x800pro or a 6800, 6800GT.. you should be able to get a nice card for less then $200.

Good luck... I know you will LOVE your new monitor!

Do any of those cards have dual DVI?

If I got a card with 1 DVI and 1 VGA, would I notice any loss in quality by using a VGA->DVI adapter?

BFG 6800 Ultra OC AGP has dual DVI, hard to find though.

If I could afford two 2405's (I have one) I would think about putting two graphics adapters in the system. However, I am not sure whether you can extend a game across both screens in that case. Two 6800 GT's each hooked to a 2405 would be pretty sweet, though.

I'm in sort of the same spot as the original poster.

I have the Dell 9100/2405FPW combo, thinking of adding another 2405FPW to the mix. Already driving the current one with the Ati X300SE (PCIe X16) card that came with the 9100.

I'd like to hear back from anyone who actually has a dual 2405FPW (or more) setup with a dual dvi card. I've checked the cards mentioned on this thread and very few of them actually confirm that they will support 1920x1200 via DVI. I'm looking for actual usage confirmation. Looking to spend $200 or less on a new card. I don't need bleeding edge performance as I don't play games but would like to have something that would also handle Vista.
