I just bought a laptop that came with a single stick of 8gb Samsung ddr4 pc4-17000 ram. I know that dual channel offers a huge improvement over single channel and have three options to do so, looking for advice on which would be the best way to upgrade.
$32 option - Kingston 8gb DDR4 PC4-17000 stick or another generic spec matched stick
$40 option - Exact match of the Samsung stick in the system.
$67 option - 16GB (8x2) PC4-19000 DDR4 kit
Will all of these options be roughly equal performance wise, or does dual channel really require matched kits?
