Dual Channel Memory Mode

Hello,
I've noticed on boot up that my computer is only using "Memory Mode: Single Channel." I have a MSI K7N2-L Mobo with Dual Channel DDR support. About a week ago, my computer read that it was "Memory Mode: Dual Channel" so I am curious as to what changed it. I recently had a BIOS problem so I asked for some help on this forum and fixed it, but I am not sure if that changed the Memory mode also. Another note is that I also recently updated my bios with Live Update 3. looking on-line I found out these specifications for running Dual Channel:

Matched DIMM configuration in each channel
Same Density (128MB, 256MB, 512MB, etc.)
Same DRAM technology (128Mb, 256Mb, or 512Mb)
Same DRAM bus width (x8 or x16)
All either single-sided or dual-sided
Matched in both Channel A and Channel B memory channels
Populate symmetrical memory slots (Slot 0 or Slot 1)

My ram follows these, I recently checked, but more importantly the same ram worked with dual channel.
Here is the link to what I did in BIOS to fix my FSB: FSB Problem

Thanks,
Matteo

Haha of course. I accidently hit back and lost post so tried to do over quickly. My question is quite simply, How can I get back to "Memory Mode: Dual Channel?" I went and DL'd CPU-z and that confirms that I'm running Single channel memory.

Thanks,
~Matteo

This may have reset your BIOS to default or optimal configuration. You should try going in the BIOS and manually setting the memory mode to dual channel...

are you using the newest version of cpu-z to check that? older versions of cpu-z incorrectly reported single channel mode.

I DL'd CPU-Z Version 1.8, there was newer versions there that I will try out. That still doesn't explain the message when I boot up saying "Memory Mode: Single Channel."

**EDIT** Version 1.9 also says Single.

Look in your motherboard manual. It should tell you which slots the memory has to be in for it to run dual channel. If it is like mine, there is no setting to change in the bios. You have to make sure the memory is the same size and speed (pc2700 etc.) and make sure and put it in the slot it says to in the manual....for the Abit NF7-S 2.0 for pc3200 it is slot 2 & 3.....hope that helps

I checked that and they are in the correct slots. It worked in these slots before, I wouldn't see why they wouldn't work now

I have the same motherboard and had the same problem. For me all it took to fix it was to put the memory modules in slots 1 and 3 ( they were in 1 and 2 before).

Well, I just moved it over to the other ram slot and it worked. I dont get why though when they told me 1 and 2 were for DDR. Anyways thanks for all your guys help! Sureshot I was curious to what your computer specs are? Email me at matteope@eden.rutgers.edu if you wouldn't mind.
