Dual Channel Memory Problems with Asus A8V

I would like to second this fix, the 1007 BIOS solves two problems with the A8V-Deluxe:

[*]Problem1: memory does not work in dual-channel slots.
Symptoms are the system is dead with the RAM in and beeps 3 times with it out.
System works with RAM in B1 and B2 slots (one blue and one black) but does not
work with RAM in A1 and B1 (both blue).

[*]Problem 2: When loading Linux, the kernel cannot format a SATA hard drive.
Symptoms are that the system hangs when writing a new partition table to the hard drive.

Thanks to everyone who posted this, you saved my motherboard from going back to Asus.
Asus customer service was unable to diagnose but you did. Asus is still shipping BIOS version 1006 for some reason.

I am having these same issues

2 200gb maxtor sata drives
2x512 -1gb corsair value select memory 2.5
3400+ 939pin
A8v deluxe w/wireless g

NOW, the question is...should I use the 1007 bios as outlined here, or asus just released (nov 1, 2004) an updated bios
