Dual channel RAM with a single stick

Hi all Im wondering if it is ok to have 10GB of ram in the system. My mobo has 4 slots dual channel. I have a couple of patriot sector 5 1333ddr3 2x4GB ram 9cas latency and a single stick kingston hyperx same frequency and latency 2GB. I have the 4th slot blocked by my cooler master hyper 212 plus so it is unusable for now.
I wanna know if it is right cuz Im experiencing BSOD while playing skyrim actually I cant play the game and i wonder if it is because this memory settings. Cpu i5 2500k 4.7GHz and GTX560.

I'd take out that 2gb stick and make sure the 2x4gb ones are in the proper channels (usually every other dimm slot, but check your mobo manual)

Yup they are marked by colors the 2x4 are in the blue slots so they right. You suggest me to take out that 2gb stick then

As an investigative step, yes, pull the 3rd RAM out and see if you still have system instability.

Seems that problem has been solved thank you guys that ram was giving instability to my system
