Fisher is correct. You can use one cathode only if you wish, though the inverter supports 2 and this deal includes the 2nd bulb.

vike105 Look at this pic The black on/off switch is already inserted for you. See it? All it does is interupt the current b/t the molex connector from your PS and the molex connetor from the light. You mount it wherever you want. I am going to put it on a PCI slot cover. If that switch wont fit, I'll buy a smaller one. Luckily, this is a NICE kit and the switch uses female quick disconnects to attach to the harness instead of being soldered on. That makes it really easy to substitute your own switch if you want.
