The GTX 780 has two DVI ports, but can both run Dual Link simultaneously on two 1440p+ monitors? I'm asking because on AMD they can not.

If you don't know what I'm talking about its for running two 1440p or higher monitors from one video card, regular DVI can't do that so you need DL-DVI output on the video card. I prefer to avoid DP after two years of hell with the sleep bug and my desktop arrangement resetting on various AMD cards.

Well the GTX780 has Support for four concurrent displays; two dual-link DVI connectors, HDMI and Displayport 1.2

Yep, but that's what AMD says as well. And its impossible to know unless they specifically specify that both DVI ports are able to operate at dual link simultaneously. So I wondered if anyone had tried it, or could confirm. Lots of people have made that mistake with AMD since the ports are capable, just not together.

Doesnt 3 x 25x16 require at least 2 Dual DVI & DP, as HDMI wont do 25x16, and as you can run 3 x 25x16, that would suggest you can run dual DVI simultaneously.

I was looking at that, and I hope so, but DP can be split as far as I know so it's not a 100% confirmation.

Yep, I will throw an e-mail to Asus, since its their DCU card I consider.

Yes you can run two 1440 displays at the same time using the dual link ports on your gtx 780. I have four 2560x1440 displays running from dual link using two gtx 780s as I type this, ofcourse SLI must be disabled to run displays from both cards..

Are you sure AMD says that? Most their cards only have one Dual Link DVI-D, and even with a single monitor hooked up, only the one works as Dual Link.

+1. With perhaps very few special exceptions, AMD cards tend to have 2 DVI ports of which only ONE is dual link

I run 2 dell 3007wfp at the same time. Even the lowly nvidia cards can do it AMD is the only exception for the majority of models out there. But Nvidia cards are no problem

No, AMD cannot run 2 x dual link DVI.....

Perhaps their current-gen cannot, due to also needing to support an HDMI out, but I believe that my VisionTek reference HD4850 512MB card with dual DVI supports DL DVD-D on both ports.
