worth it for who? you? are you doing graphics? are you watching stocks? I mean if you have no use...then why is it worth it? If you just want to spend a lot of money....sure...or you can just send me the money =)

well almost no games run on it.
but if you do things that require multilple screens then it's definitely worth it.
I do alot of coding on my multi monitor setup and i've got to say it's one of the best things i ever did. I also set up my databases and servers and it's really useful to have one screen that you're doing the setup on and another with the manual on it.

personally i will never go back to single monitor.

The only thing where multiple monitors can really be used is if you do something like AUTOCAD or something equivalent. Unless you're into GFX/rendering, there's no point to it. Granted, when we got the G450 when it originally came out, we played about with the dual-monitor feature and grew bored after (max) 1 hour. After that it was a waste of resoures, as one had to pay for a second video port that hardly anyone uses.

That's my oppinion on things. Get a decent (17" or 19" or bigger still) monitor and you should be happy with it. No point in having 2 monitors - waste of money and you get surprisingly little out of it. I mean - you can get a lot onto a 1280 x 1024 desktop anyway, can't you? Why do you need 2 times that much. And you can just ALT-TAB between apps, so that's not really warranting me spending XXX $$'s on a 2nd monitor just so I can look at (for example) my spreadsheet AND my solitaire-game .

Anyway - that's my 2p on the matter .

Exactly as others have said... what use will you get out of it? You really think you'll use it for gaming (almost no games use it)? Or for business? I had dual 19" for awhile, used them for entirely surfing and Word 2k. Personally, i would rather have a single 19" than two 17".

Well... I could use it, but I havn't got the money. I hope i can buy a nice 21' Sony monitor in July, and use that + my ordinary 17' monitor. Well, like Dat I set up servers and program some stuff, and there it's very nice to have 2 monitors. I have tryet it @ work, and it was great.

well...to my wife, dual setup is better for her.

She has two 15" LCD for her daily graphic, surfing, office..so on and so forth..(she doesn't play games, well, she admit woman can't play any game that require more than 2 button) Blahahaha.....

Cost-wise, a 18" LCD will cost me more than $1000, 3 month ago, wherea, two 15" LCD cost me bit less. 40% more viewing area, and cost less...why not?

I put AIM and Winamp on my second monitor. It's wonderful. My IM windows don't get caught behind browser windows or whatever I'm doing, and I can easily see who IMed me. It also lets me see what song is playing and easily switch that. I also leave AIM on while I'm playing games so I can see if anyone has anything important to tell me. I think it's terrible convienent and worth it.

Dual monitors is an absolute necessity for my dept's graphics computer. (Matrox G450 DualHead) It's an absolute pain in the @$$ working on even a single 20" monitor and I'd kill if somebody tried to take away the second monitor there. However, while I'd like it home, I don't think I could justify the extra cost though, and the best single card dual monitor solutions are suck at games.
