But the left should support his freedom of speech.

Right?

Right?

The same left that smiles and nods whenever some Muslim preacher calls for gays to be stoned to death.

Free speech is a fallacy. Sure, they can't throw you in jail if you say something the powers that be don't jive with, but they find other ways to destroy you. Even if you apologize, it doesn't matter. They want to take your job and drag your name through the mud. We live in a gotcha society. Everybody is out to expose everyone else as monsters. Guess it makes us feel better about ourselves.

I'm glad in a way that guy from CNN got so much heat over the remarks he made about Sarah Palin. Because it shows that liberals aren't immune to this crap from the sniveling, whiners of the world. Nobody should be fired over voicing their own personal opinion. That's the problem in America today. I'd probably expand that to include most of the West. Everybody only wants to hear what they agree with, and it's stiffling debate.

The family/Willie is also responsible for that cashing in. He knew it wouldn't last forever and he is right.

As for your last two lines. If they were only attached to their privately owned company, it would be accurate. It wouldn't much matter. However in this case they are media personalities that have contracts with a publicly owned media company and said media company does not his statements associated with them or the show. So it is not quite the same.

Then maybe they should have thought that through. He's obviously not shy about his beliefs, or who he tells them to. I have a hard time believing that the people behind the show had no idea he held these beliefs until now, so if they were worried about their image they've been playing with fire allowing this to go on.

I'm just bummed that they wrung this show dry so quickly

Right?

Well, that doesn't apply here, but I'll play along:

This is an infringement on his constitutional rights!

This is a Christian Nation!

How dare they treat this good Christian this way!

etc

Kind of funny you say that since homosexuals don't reproduce. So they don't pass on their genes. They have to rely on heterosexuals to adopt their children.

Plenty of homosexuals have gotten preggers or knocked up a lady.

Hell, look at all those closeted self-hating and god-fearing fundy Christians, with their 2.5 kids and evil, evil thoughts that they have to cry away every night.

But of course you already knew that. ...or didn't?

Ah yes the good old idiots arguments about free speech. Because apparently you can't use your freedom of speech to criticize some fuckstick's stupid ass opinions.

I don't see any way that his freedom of speech was infringed, although I do see A&E exercising their freedom to fire his ass over saying it.

first: it's "jibe;" not "jive."

second: "gotcha mentality?" I see a Palin sheeple.

third: The guy at CNN was fired because that was completely unprofessional. Media may have gone to shit over the last 3 or 4 decades, but there is still a certain code of professionalism and ethics that they are bound by. It wasn't whiners going after him--it was breach of ethics.

lastly: no one is denying this inbreeder his first amendment rights. there is no breach here, except that you seem to think that no one else should be allowed to exercise their right to let them know what they think about him and what he says, that his employers have no right to fire his ass, etc. So, basically, you are the one that doesn't want it going both ways.
"Offended by something I said? Oh, you just shut up and take it! I have a right to offend you and don't you dare tell me what you think! Waaaa!"

It seems more and more that the most vocal whiners about free speech rights understand them the least.

1. The only "liberals" are the ones in your head.

2. You clearly have zero understanding of freedom of speech. It has not been infringed upon in ANY way here. Get a brain.

The same left that loves Alec Baldwin, despite repeated gay slurs caught on video.

The same left that worships diversity and tolerance - as long as you don't ask them to tolerate anything they don't like.

Ah... Someone that talks about a "left" that doesn't exist while talking about a guy who did not have any first amendment freedom infringed. You are infromed!

I didn't see him equate homosexuality to bestiality.

I did see a slippery-slope type argument that may not have any basis in reality, but no equating of anything to anything else. The rest of what he said was predictable given what I know about his religious beliefs.

I find his argument for keeping things the way they were before the civil rights movement more repugnant because it's a notion he thought up for himself instead of having been impressed with it by his religion.

Edit: Why the hell does freedom of speech always come up in these threads? What does an individual getting fired from a corporation for things he said to another corporation have to do with free speech?

This isnt really a left or right issue. He has the right and the venue to say what he wants and to live with the consequence. His employer exercized their choice based on the organizations values and code of conduct. He should have read his contract.....

what some of you are doing is viewing this trough your own prism and litmus...

“I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior,” he said in a statement sent to FOX411.

“My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.

"However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

He's absolutely free to say what he wants, even if I disagree with him (and I personally do). A&E is also free to drop his show if they don't like what he has to say.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me,” Robertson told the magazine. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

the man makes complete sense to me.

Isn't most of the comedy of the show just laughing at how ignorant and retarded these people are? If you dig up a rock and look at the underside, you shouldn't be surprised that you find bugs.
actually the real comedy occurs every time you post on these forums...heheheee

Look, children! Here's a person that doesn't know what kin selection is.

As far as I can tell no one is stitching this inbred's lips together or cutting out his tongue.

He's as free as a bird to congregate with all of the other cousin-fucking accidents and spout away at his own leisure.
