'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson suspended for comments on homosexuals

It's a little ironic that a "reality show" star, valued by a network for his "real life" is suspended when he voices his actual thoughts, thoughts to which anyone who knows him, or reads about him, are no surprise at all.

Reality show star gives his real opinion, network suddenly doesn't like reality...

I personally think that gay marriage is wrong. The idea of marriage is between a man and a woman that love each other to produce a child.

I don't watch the show and I have no idea who he is. Why does it matter what this guy says, really. It's pathetic that in today's society he could sit there and call people any 4 letter word or insult and nobody would care- but if you mention race or gays then somehow it's so much worse and you deserve to lose your job and be shamed in public.

Other races have segregated facilities. They have the same rights, just separate. Cant they be happy with that? Just call their restrooms and drinking fountains something else that is exclusive to their race.

Interracial Marriage is a different issue. I have no problem with IM, i think its good for a community to mix. There is still a man and woman raising a child.

I have no issues with gay people either. I have loads of gay friends and gay family. Just gay marriage.

The point he was making is that separate but equal has been shown not to work. What you're arguing is literally exactly what was said when interracial marriage was a hot debate.

Yeah, but they do choose who they have sex with, don't they? I agree that it is a defect though.

Maybe someone is born with a defective predisposition to be attracted to the same sex. But it's a choice on if you are banging some dude in the butt or not.

This is where ignorance comes in. 1. Separate but equal doesn't work. 2. The reality of it is that states with civil unions, like NJ had, did NOT function equally. Workers were not well informed as to the benefits, and this caused problems everywhere, including hospitals for spousal visitation.

In theory it worked fine, in reality it didn't. You can have another "opinion," but the only reason to deny gays equal rights is bigotry, no matter how much you try to pretty it up. It makes me sick when people are denied rights. It also makes me sick when people think that their fellow human beings aren't viable parents because of the sex they prefer.

Who cares if they choose who they have sex with? You can choose to have gay sex..maybe you would if hetero was frowned upon and made you have to deal with bigots. What is the problem?
