This. The 80's was like the golden age of intros.
The decline of good intro songs definitely started in the '90s. Only a few good ones from that decade.

Chi Chi Chi Chip n Dale's.... Rescue Rangers!

To be fair, 99% of anime intros are terrible. I haven't seen Attack on Titan, but nearly every anime I have seen is an automatic skip past the intro. And, they do recap episodes... Wtf? I don't need an entire episode dedicated to recapping shit I already saw.The 80's was like the golden age of intros. These days shows don't even have them. They prefer to cram in another commercial instead. (When attack of titan premiered in the States they butchered the opening into a 10 seconds for just that purpose, in addition to making other cuts and edits and other crap) Everything about America these days feels diluted and watered down compared to the good old days.

Um Powerpuff Girls?
Denver the Last Dinosaur?
Doug?
Fighting evil by moonlight.
Winning love by daylight.
Never running from a real fight,
she is the one: Sailor Moon!
I can see that.Heaven help me, the soundtracks and music they put into the "dub" of Sailor Moon sounded leaps and bounds better to me than the Japanese original. I think one of the tracks they played with the piano in some episodes were especially emotional. And while I'm glad I could see the uncut 2 episode Japanese original finale that ended queen Beryl, the edited down American version with redone tracks feels like it has a much more exciting climax. Even if the plot leading up to it didn't make as much sense...
Robotech was another example where the editing of episode 27 of Macross, dubbed into Force of Arms, lead to a significantly more exciting sequence through the shuffling of events and different music.
Yeah. I remember in the 90's watching Land of The Lost. Had a good theme song.
It wasn't just cartoons that had good theme songs though.
This is a story all about how...
It never fails, once they're involved.
Sometimes,
some crimes
go slipping through the cracks.
..but these two
gumshoes
are picking up the slack.
There's no case too big,
no case too small.
If you need help just call:
...
That was a good one, I still sing it to myself sometimes.
"Living in the LAAAND of the LOOOOST. LAND OF THE LOST!"
In regards to ones I sing to myself I am also partial to the one for the 90's Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon.
"He's the fastest thing ALIVIEIVE!"
That is my ringtone.
After having kids, I saw the DVDs on sale. They really need to remaster these and upscale them to 16:9. I was disappointed with the quality.
