im too cheap to buy a digicam so ill try to explain as best possible.

neways. i was cleaning dust in my comp.. so i start dusting the fan on my videocard (visontek g3 ti500) and i totalyl screwed it up i broke the frame in like 3 places that holds the fan to the heatsink and now the fan wont stay

so im thinkin of slapping a ys tech fan i have sitting around with duct tape onto the heatsink of the g3 ti500 by duct taping all 4 sides to the underside of the the card.

also this fan should let me overclock a lot more? cuz its like 5000 rpm fan

can duct tape interfer with the circuits on the bottom or whatever?

Dude, thats very risky my friend. What happens if the duct tape comes lose, fan gonna hurt something and the video could burn up without you knowing the fan has fallen off. It's just not work it all. It may also run just fine not overclocked without a fan.

can a g3 ti500 run safely for several days without overclocking with just the retail heatsink and no fan?

What about using zip ties to fasten the fan to the card? You can get a pack of them from Walmart for about a buck

Why not use super glue and rebuild it? Should be OK - it's only plastic.
