DUI #6 yesterday

Just out of curiosity, do a sizeable percentage of these DUIs start with booze bought at NH state owned liquor stores?

Is the state held liable like a privately owned packy would be for selling booze to a drunk?

I don't know if NH has a dramshop law. Even if it does, I doubt any clerk would sell alcohol to someone who was visibly intoxicated (many dramshop laws require some amount of care, but don't expect the owner to give a blood test or refuse booze to an alcoholic who is sober at the time of purchase)

On pretty much every base I've been stationed the Captains number one priority was reducing DUI's. Its epic some places. Ridgecrest in particular.

O they always try to reduce it. theres always tons of posters on the boats (well carriers at least) about reducing DUI's. They put the cars/bikes right on the brows (or where everyone has to walk by) in efforts to reduce it as well. No matter what you take probably 1000+ under 25 people, have them at sea in close quarters for a few months and have them get back and you can be sure they all want to get out and party. Most do it responsibly but theres always those couple who spoil it.

The sub guy i mentioned who died, they had to hold a big meeting for us workers and told us what happened and told us to not discuss it on the boat or anywhere really. The boat felt sorry for losing the guy but i dont think any of the workers really did. He killed an innocent life and you want people to feel sorry for him?

I skipped #5 because it was a fairly boring story.

Single vehicle rollover - that's obviously after the big pieces were picked up..some are still visible along the edge of the roadway.

Apparently "three quarters of a beer" now means "over .3". Don't drink and drive, people!

I just want to say a big THANK YOU to you JLee and also jimmygates. You guys are the heroes.

My youngest sister (26 at the time) was killed by a drunk driver 4 years ago. She wasn't even driving, just a passenger with her boyfriend. The driver fled the scene but was caught later. He got 5 years and that's it. I miss her still to this day.

I assume this guy did not have 6 DUI's or he would be in prison. 2nd one should be 5 years in hoosegow. I have a friend I grew up with who lost his whole young family ...wife and 3 kids when a drunk in a pickup blew threw a light in a small one light town doing 90 in 25. Cut minivan in half almost. This fuck only got 17 years.

According to www.RUPissed.com, a 25yo 6' 180lb (ish, rounded to metric for the site) man would be at a .286 after drinking a 24 pack of light beer over a four hour period.

For me...

10 Imperial Pints of Smithwicks in 4 hours = BAC 0.296.

Not in all states. In NY DUI != DWI, they're different offenses. DWI is the worse of the two, unless the DUI is drug related (though I believe drug charges precede the DUI in that event). There's also DWAI (Driving While Ability Impaired) in NY too.

NY is terrible for getting a DUI in. Vehicle can be taken permanently.

don't go 20+ over and you you wont have to worry about it. keep it 10 above or lower and most of the time you wont get pulled over.
