Unfortunately for Gearbox, now a lot of gamers will get a "real demo" when the final game is on torrents, if it isn't already.

As for me, my impression is that it isn't worth buying, it isn't worth pirating, and I'm not sure I'd even waste bandwidth on a legit demo.

Only for consoles is the final game on torrents and not the PC. Since it is Steamworks for the PC some files will be missing till they are downloaded from Steam when it launches.

i just played the demo, and it's not bad. Kind of reminds me of FPS's back in the day... the game play wise, that is... These days, all FPS shooters are mostly too serious... No more "run and gun" fun....heh.. triple rhyme!

arg... I'll check out a PROPER demo and REAL reviews... The last run and gun game I've played (actually) was Crysis 2. That was not very fun (for me) but it garnered a crap load of positive reviews! (Despite graphics being sub Crysis)

I just played through the demo since I was able to find it elsewhere. It was decent. I do not plan to get the game though since it does not have the same feel to it that Duke3d had. It feels pretty much like just another FPS game.

I'll go on a limb here and say it's probably a repeat of the whole Kane & Lynch review embargo situation, and there won't be a critic review up until after the North American release.

Don't get me wrong, I want it to do well. It's just likely the publisher is hedging it's bets at this point and I don't blame 'em.

Ughhh. I remember following the Brink feed on twitter the day it launched. That game had a review embargo also. When the embargo was done, it was just pure disappointment. I was > < close to buying that game too.

I agree... But now, it's more of the call of duty games that are taking over. More of the realistic war shooters...

It is great that you can find gameplay videos on youtube. What sucks is there is always some jerk that talks through the whole video. It would be nice if the video had the game sounds and music without any added commentary.

I played the demo last night. I actually kind of liked it and thought the graphics were far better on my machine/screen than what was shown in any of the stuff I watched online beforehand. Some of the movements and actions were a bit clunky, but overall I thought it was kind of fun. I can't see myself spending $50 on it, but for half that I would go for it.

modern FPS is too serious... About war with another country using realistic weapons. I want something completely awkward... shrink ray, etc.
